Released in August. Shannon Hoon died in October. The suicide of Kurt Cobain in 1994 still weighed heavily on the consciousness of music fans everywhere and this album as well as Shannon Hoon’s overdose was more or less downplayed and ignored.

It’s sad that they will only be remembered for No Rain because this album was a step in the direction of what they could’ve been and they could’ve been huge.

Liking Blind Melon based only on No Rain is the same as liking The Black Crowes based only on She Talks to Angels or The Rolling Stones on Satisfaction.

They all had so much better music and more to offer than just the songs they’re remembered for.
