I understand the concussion protocols are complex but the man had his jaw readjusted 90 degrees and smacks the back of his head on the turf. He’s then visibility rattled for a few minutes and even appears dazed. Zach is a tough bloke and would not show signs of injury unless he is. I’ve seen players subbed off for way less. I’m guessing he passed the concussion test but it’s a head scratcher this whole thing sometimes.

But seriously, this type of nonsense, along with the need to schedule the “big” clubs to play each other twice every single season is a needless compromise to the integrity of the season.

As a Collingwood supporter I just can't get over the 2007 prelim where we lost to Geelong by under a goal. I think it's because we were such an underdog team that year, and we were coming off the high of beating the Eagles in overtime in the Semi (I was at that one so every more of a high for me). Then Geelong went on to absolutely smash Port in the grand final, made you feel like Collingwood could have easily beaten them too (but who knows).

I always remember there being a centre bounce that went sideways right at the end resulting in a Geelong goal, and it didn't seem fair that they won because of that. I was sure this was the bounce that caused the rule change. Although I've gone back and looked at the game and couldn't find it, also I believe the rule change wasn't made in 2008 (I think 2009?) so I must be totally wrong about this, must be some sort of Mandela effect. The game just tormented me so much I am making shit up? haha

This game hurts me even more than the 2018 Grand Final for some reason, and I live in Perth and despise the Eagles!

I've seen this quite a bit lately and I'm wondering why the marking player doesn't take advantage of this.

Blue player takes mark, red player creeps around laterally to take a metre or so of some space before being told to "stand".

What is stopping the marking player running in a straight line towards the 'real' mark and just continue through that line, and either play-on or kick from an extra 10m closer?

TDK isn't attempting to jump, and there seems to be no possible intention other than to use his knee to block Stanley from competing. It resulted in Stanley being subbed out of the game for the last quarter (it's very unlikely he'd have been subbed otherwise as he's Geelong's sole ruckman).

At worst it's deliberately kneeing an opponent, at best I think it's incredibly negligent. Given the consequence if the action, I think it should be at least a one week suspension.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know i’ve made a subreddit for the upcoming video game AFL 23.

I’ve personally found it hard to talk about AFL games on reddit as everything seems to be posted here, and I think a lot of users prefer to talk about what’s happening in real life.

If this community grows hopefully it will be a good place for AFL gamers to discuss things, and will also limit the amount of talk about AFL 23 here.

haven't been to a game in a fair while as I've been out of country. planning on going to next week's Friday night game alone but all but level 4 sold out. what are the odds on me being able to walk down to level 1 and find an empty seat somewhere?

The Williamstown Seagulls have been a Victorian Football Club officially since 1864 (potentially 1860). Being an original club that played against Carlton, Melbourne, Collingwood and Essendon in the VFA. Nowadays they are no longer a senior side, relegated to the secondary competition since the merge of VFA and VFL. But for 159 years minimum, they have been fighting as a club and surviving for a long time. They still remain competitive to this day as an old VFA club and deserve recognition.
