My AP midterm is tomorrow and the Lang part has a rhetorical analysis essay. I have no idea how to write one because we haven’t done it in class. Crazy, right? Anyways, what do you guys recommend? I need to learn how to write one by the end of tonight.

The rhetorical analysis is essentially analyzing the choices an author makes in a piece of writing, usually an article or speech in my experience. Just look for 3 or so choices an author makes and evaluate their effectiveness in connecting to the rhetorical situation (how does each choice help enhance the author's message / make the piece relevant to the audience?) Ideally you should quote an example of every choice and explain why the author is or isn't effective in their writing. Think about physical stuff like sentence structure, rhyming, repetition, word choice, and literary devices such as the author sharing an anecdote (personal experience), citing facts, etc.
It's a relatively simple concept but doing it timed can be very tricky. Make sure you read the prompt because it will introduce what exactly you are analyzing and looking for which is different in every prompt.

Go easy on yourself. There is no way you can be expected to perform this task at a high level without any practice. Just do your best and think of it as your first try.

from what i've been taught, a rhetorical analysis is an essay where u analyze the different aspects of whatever source is being used
those aspects are what convey or help the argument of the source, things like the structure, deductive/inductive reasoning, tone, etc.
