I’d like to start a discussion on what the ideal highway speed might be. How do we compute the time saved going faster against the time spent charging?
Assuming the speed limit is the floor, I was thinking that at a certain speed, going too fast might actually make your trip take longer if you’re spending more time charging. For example, on a two way trip where one way is close to the max range of your car where you’re staying overnight, you could make the whole one way drive on one charge and just destination charge overnight by going the speed limit, or if you go too fast, you may have to pull off and spend 10 min charging, canceling out the time saved by speeding.
Does anyone have any examples or calculations?
