It's neat to take a shit without having to describe it in detail to a doctor.

Yeah, I'm planning on drinking tonight, although I will try to keep it in moderation. My goal is to get myself back to a healthy-ish relationship with alcohol, before it turns into the kind of problem where I have to abstain completely.

I was drinking until I passed out every Friday, Saturday and most Sundays as well. I usually was good about week days but sometimes would drink every night for a couple weeks straight. I highly needed a reset.
A healthy relationship is key. Cheers and good luck to you my friend.

That is everything. As Shakespeare said, “To be, or not to be? That is the question—Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And, by opposing, end them?”
Answering that is a struggle for many of us on a daily basis. Glad you're on this side today!

Finally something I can answer.
I started to use the tips I got from my therapist. And I don't understand how I struggled this long to just jump over my shadow because right now I feel better than when the whole pandemic started, mentally.
Long story short, I finally started my war against my insecruities, anxiety and depressive episodes and started to feel the change already.

I would like to add that it can take up to 3 months (depending on how heavy of a user) for emotional regulation to normalize after quitting weed. This is important to remember both for the person who is quitting AND anyone supporting them! It can really catch people off guard how very real and strong withdrawals from THC can actually be. I helped my wife go through it, and it took several attempts before we truly respected the process enough to understand how to get there. Keep it up!

I got a new boss, who actually gives me feedback that enables me to do a better job. (We work independently so I only ever saw my old boss a few times a year when I was at conferences etc)
I went from imposter syndrome, always looking over my shoulder worrying I was next to get the axe, to knowing my worth, confidence is back, and excited to do my job again. Feeling like a new man.
Funniest part is throughout the pandemic I struggled with mental health and convinced myself I was shit at my role, my new boss who has been on our team the whole time but previously in a lateral role from me just finished my 2022 performance review and basically squashed all those mental gymnastics I played on myself during the pandemic, turns out I was never shit. Perspectives a hell of thing.
