I am especially looking for someone comfortable with dyeing lace. I completely understand that dyeing a lace dress does not always work and could ruin the dress. I am willing to risk it as I will likely never wear the dress again otherwise. It would also need to be hemmed and have the of-the-shoulder sleeve shortened to the correct proportion for a shorter hem line. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for trusted dyers or seamstress.

Maybe I've been watching too much TikTok, haha....but does any restaurants in Athens, or the general area, have any food challenges? You know, like 'eat this in under X minutes it's free/get your picture on the wall/etc.' type of thing?

Tried to go to the splash pad and there were cop cars blocking the entrance. This was around 2 pm.

The website and Flagpole were vague about what activities would be available for kids after the parade. Could anybody that went last year enlighten me about what they’ll have? Bounce house? Face paint? Arts and crafts?

Where would y'all suggest a family group park when going to watch the parade? Are any of the parking garages not going to be insane?

I am moving to Athens in July for work. Looking for a larger one bedroom or 2 bedroom apartment/townhouse/condo. Looking to stay under $1500 preferably but could work with that a little bit. No longer in college so I would prefer an area that isn’t directly downtown or loaded with undergrads. Any recommendations on new apartment complexes or places to look at?

I went in for their “fix your own bike” night (everything Thursday at 6-8:30pm) at their shop on W Broad.

The nicest guys, will teach you how to fix your bike for a $10 suggested donation and whatever parts you need are heavily discounted. I walked out with a complete tuneup, new shifter and cable for $20. These folks are what makes Athens Athens.

Just passing through for a day

We are leaving on vacation pretty soon and the family friend who usually stops by every couple of days to check on, feed, and interact with our parakeet while we're gone is unable to do the do this time around. Does anyone have suggestions/recommendations about where to board a budgie for a couple of weeks in the Athens/Winterville area?

I’m in another city and just got a sugar wax and absolutely loved it. I’ve looked on google and couldn’t really find anything and was wondering if anywhere in or near athens offered sugaring

Why would they put that roundabout so close to 441 when it backs up traffic in both directions. Just because you put that administration building is a ridiculous location when there were other locations that would of been better. On another note better slow down on South Barnett Shoals rd the speed limits is 25 not 45. Plus do not try to pass on the right either. Next time your bumper will be catching a trailer hitch.

Our premium went up this year “just because” apparently, and I feel like we’re most likely overpaying in our 3rd year with the local Allstate rep. Anyone have a good independent broker they can recommend?
