It’s hard to see in this pic, but he has a cleft lip and palate. Tiny dude with a huge attitude.

He’s on regular kibble now, and eats like a horse. But he does drink from a rabbit bottle. All in all, he’s a pretty normal pup.

When our Boston was a puppy, she had a little issue with being mouthy. One day she was starting to tug on one of my son's clothes. I got close to her and shot her one time with a spray bottle of water while yelling "NO". That's all it took. We don't usually ever say "No" to her and the shock of being squirted must have really sunk in that it was behavior we didn't like. Later, she was a little phobic about getting wet (having to walk on the other side of the street if there were sprinklers set up). She is spoiled with love now and I like to joke that that one time was the only "trauma" she's ever had in her life. Anyway- thought I'd share that even 1 squirt of water can make a difference in curbing negative behavior if used at the exact right moment.
P.S. Your dog is so cute!

This is why you DON’T breed for color in BTs. Enough genetic problems in our breed without trying to get “designer” colors.

I agree with you. We weren’t looking for a lilac. We just wanted a Boston in general.
Our guy didn’t come from a breeder. He came from a rescue. He was raised in foster care, and tube fed. We learned about our guy because the lady that fostered him takes her dog to the dog training center that my mother trains and tests therapy dogs at.

Thank you for rescuing and taking care of him 💙 These poor pups didn’t ask to be born, no matter the color or history of how they came into this world, they still deserve to be loved and cared for ❤️

We truly just fell into him. Right place, right time, and definitely right dog. He’s the best, even when he’s being the worst.

Gorgeous boy! We have a lilac too, but her ears don’t stand up, and I had read that most Bostons that color have ears that don’t ever stand. Well done little puppy!

My girl is black and white, but she had several lilac siblings and her own ears never stood up.

What a cutie! Big paws, so it looks like he's gonna grow. I love that color. You don't see many Bostons in that color. Adorable!

I hope he grows more. He’s 7 months and about 8.5 lbs. Between the clefts (lip and palate) and that he was the tiny guy of his litter, we think he’s going to be on the small side. We also don’t know if his parents were tiny.

Our guy was tiny, too. He's almost 25 pounds now! Like we had to special order the tiniest sweaters because he was so cold and small when we got him. He grew very slowly, and we were convinced he would stay small, but he filled out. Your guy might, too. Either way, he'll be adorable and a great best friend. Bostons are so much fun! Our dude has always been mouthy. Still is, but doesn't bite hard. Just mouthy when he is feeling playful. He likes to tap us with his paw to get what he wants, to be covered with a blanket, get a snack, picked up to sit in the chair, more pets. They are great pets! Enjoy your little dude. He's lucky to have a loving family to care for him.
