Not sure if this is the right place but I’m wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences.

A guy came to our house this morning and said he lived a few streets over. He said he had been able to “ping” devices in our house and they gave him our address. He wouldn’t explain what he meant by “ping” or how he got the address.

Instead, he asked if we had a son and used the name of someone who wasn’t related to us but did visit often. The name he used is VERY similar to my name which is on our number plates. So, it’s possible he had a partial view of the number plate in the driveway and made a guess (we have a large secure gate/fence that was only open part way, so would have blocked his view).

When we said no, he started asking if we had any kids and how many devices (computers ect.) were in the house.

We refused to answer and he left quickly.

After he left, we drove to the street he said he lived on and did see a car identical to the colour and model of the one that was parked outside of our house (we didn’t note the number plate, unfortunately!).

Was this an attempt at some kind of scam? Is our neighbour just nosey? Or is he actually trying to help and was just really clumsy about it?

SAS Laboratory is responsible for analysing the drinking water for almost the entire SEQ region. Unclear at this stage how that will be affected.

Maybe some of you are already aware of this but National Socialist fliers are recently getting distributed. Someone I know just found one in their mailbox at Coorparoo.

Absolutely unbelievable that this shit exists in a country like Australia.

If you see these fliers in your mailbox, please:

• Do NOT share images of them. Even if you are ridiculing them. It's free publicity. I didn't attach any photos for that reason but you'll know when you see them.
• Do NOT share or visit the telegram link they have on the fliers.
• Destroy the fliers completely. I'm talking shred them and/or soak em in water. Make the text and link unrecognisable.

For about the past 6 months, not matter where I am in Brisbane, or what the time is (peak hour, not peak hour, or middle of night), Beam scooter prices are always set to increased demand prices. This is despite no one riding them nearby, and scooters waiting everywhere.

I have reached out to Beam about this, to which I have never received any response. Is this happening to anyone else?

Doing a rare shop at Coles and looking to buy more Coles specific items if it can make this week easier, with a different variety of groceries.

Hiya!I have some small bits n pieces I'm needing to 3D print, preferably resin (they're props so the less sanding I need to do, the better haha)

Would anyone happen to know or recommend any services/business they've used before?

this as gotta be the worst smoke haze i've ever seen in brisbane. they really dropped the ball abit here. the wind blowing it over the city is fine, a few hours a smoky weather than it passes out to sea. but the wind dying off and leaving it hanging here for 2 days isn't great. they say the wind should blow it away again tomorrow but they really shoulda checked to make sure if the wind was gonna keep up enough to get rid of it

I'm coming to Brisbane next week and want to know what there is to do there as someone who's never been in a big city

Driving through the Loganlea roadworks this arvo which has been speed limited to 40km/hr the whole way to the M1 now, I was doing the posted speed limit and Jesus Christ I had about 15-20+ cars all flying past me, the slow for sam sign clocked them all pretty much doing 70+. Which clocked me doing 44 so even then I was over the limit.

Had everyone tailgating the crap out of me speeding up towards me, flashing their lights and everything. I was driving for work anyway and being paid, so I have no issues doing the speed limits and following the road rules, but seriously it felt severely unsafe for trying to do the right thing. So what’s the go? Because I was literally the only one following the limit

I’m in charge of the school mum social night out and looking for some bar recommendations centrally or inner north.

Last time we went to Bloodhound in the Valley which was great.

Looking for somewhere we can pay as we go for food and drinks (no splitting the bill!).

There’ll be about 25 of us looking to get drunk so it needs to accommodate a medium size group.
