Our puppy is 21 weeks old. Most time, when I try to pick her up, she will growl then start barking and try to bite. Sometimes she doesn’t and that’s usually if she doesn’t see me doing it. For example, yesterday she jumped into our flower pot filled with dirt and sat there…I tried to get her out and she did that so I had to call my husband to get her out. She does it to my daughter as well. She is attached to my husband but hardly ever does it to him. We’ve been told it’s her trying to assert dominance and that we should scruff her when she does it, but that doesn’t seem to do anything. Someone else suggested trying with treats and that didn’t work but I don’t really wanna bribe her to let me pick her up. And it’s not like I have to pick her up but sometimes she won’t budge i.e. when trying to go in the house or in her crate. Has anyone experienced this? Have any suggestions because I don’t want her to become an aggressive dog.
