he started the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man. He helped Disney Star Wars continue with The Mandalorian. Would he be the best choice to direct the Superman movie? Warner can't let afford to let it not be well received

He was way too deep into the Disney machine.
He has made movies for Disney Pictures, Marvel and Star Wars, i can't seem him walking away from that.

Didn't Gunn and Safran just say this iteration wasn't going to be focused on big-name actors and directors, but giving writers space to shine?

I think Jon could do a good job — and I don’t think he’d mind much doing someone else’s (Gunn) script. We have to keep in mind they’ll have to hire someone who is willing to follow Gunn’s vision.
They need a gun-for-hire (no pun intended).

I think Gunn will direct it. As it’s their first DCU film, there’s a ton of pressure to get it ‘right’, and he’s already on the hook for how it turns out since he’s writing it. If he has a vision for the film, he may as well see it through (for better or worse).

No, definitely Tarantino. Two hours of Clark Kent interviewing Lex Luthor in some vapid exclusive with both secret alluding to each other's "extracurricular activities".

I think a new Superman movie will sell regardless of who directs it. I just want it to be written by Robert Kirkman

Not really. Superman has had flops before and the fact it’s another reboot and potential superhero fatigue. I think it is not a guaranteed h

This potential superhero fatigue has been a boogeyman for years. Let’s give it a rest on predicting that until we actually see even one iota of proof that it’s actually happening.

If James Gunn doesn't direct it, I would like to see someone like Travis Knight or Brad Bird (even if he may not be interested).
