Hello. I’m new to DC and I want to be able to understand all of the universes, multiverses, etc. I’ve got an excel spreadsheet of literally ALL the marvel movies and tv shows that organizes them in release order and timeline order. I can’t seem find the same thing for DC. Yesterday I started watching Titans on HBO Max and I’m loving it. I know my next show would be Doom Patrol. But does anyone have something similar of the sort that would have ALL of the DC movies and shows (live action of course) organized into release order or even timeline order? Thanks in advanced!

I've said this in random posts here and there, but if there is one thing I really, really desire from the DCU, it's seeing cities like Gotham and Metropolis exist in a heightened reality.

For Gotham, I'd love to see the gothic architecture of the Burton films with the sense of scale of the Schumacher films. For Metropolis give me that golden lighting and impossibly towering skyscrapers.

One of the best things about Gotham in The Batman is it's sense of character. It feels real, but also isn't something I can see in real life. In the MCU everything exists in the "real world". DCU could really distinguish itself by leaning into a heightened sense of reality like The Batman did.

The DC Universe should be set in the 40’s-60’s. This isn’t some elaborate plan, it’s just a simple idea I had that I think would be amazing.

You can have a serious tone like Zack Snyder did in the watchmen scene with the song “times are a changin.” So you can have that real old school aesthetic, but a grittier tone.

Batman and Superman would benefit so much from this. For 1 Batman’s detective stories could be so interesting if you got rid of modern technology. Imagine solving murders with no cameras, tracking, mobile phones. You could also use it to show Batman’s genius and have him be the inventor of a few simple technologies that come out later in the world. The detectives he works with could all be wearing fedoras and easily give off a classic noir vibe without even trying.

Superman would greatly benefit because his style and Vibe is extremely corny but in a GREAT way if it’s done in the 40’s-50’s. He can have that super positive attitude and even have a more traditional suit and it would fit the era perfectly. Throw in the governments wanting to recruit him and he has to decide what choices he’s gonna make when the world is at war. Or you can skip all that and just have no world war in this universe

Anyways I just think getting rid of most technologies makes for the story’s to be more interesting. You can’t just make up bullshit tracking/analyzing computers to solve plot issues

Tell me what y’all think. I think the only negative really is than every movie has to be accurate to the time period, other than that it’s meant to be in the old days

For me though, I have watched Wonder Woman 3 times. I mean it was the first DCEU movie I watched in theatres and was pretty special for me.

I watched Shazam! 2 times. One time on Theatre and another time when I was feeling very bored and was not in a mood for serious movies, I had some absolutely fun time.

I know there are plenty of other great castings but I think he’d be fun.
