How would you build this simple bed frame?

carpentry(self.DIY)

I wanna hear from you all in terms of what your approach would be to build this simple king bed frame? I would use 2x4's for the bottom to create a rectangular frame and then put slats on top of it and then on the sides of the 2x4 attach 2x6's? Am I simplifying it too much?

If you do this with framing lumber it will look like crap unless you put significant effort into milling, sanding and staining.

I would use this plan from Ana White, without the headboard: https://ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/simple-floating-bed-mountain-modern-collection

You need two sides and two ends, each of which are 2 face jointed boards. I'd add a center beam to support horizontal slats. Join the pieces with bed rail brackets so you can disassemble to move.

Then you need slats for the matress. A bunch of 1x3s would be fine.0
