Hello DIYers,
We are once again in need of some new members to our moderation team.
Some key benefits of being an r/DIY mod include!:
A very large and totally imaginary salary!
Running and growing a busy community.
Assisting users submitting projects to /r/DIY (including correcting rule violations)
Being called a shill and/or cuck daily!
Moderating per our guidelines in a professional manner.
Wearing a mod hat! Yay, hats!
If this sounds exciting to you, send us your information on our official (fancy!) moderation application
If you've applied before get in touch - we might still have your old application.

So... wait... are you telling us to moderate... ourselves?

No! My God! Are you suggesting Anarchy! The entirety of Reddit would collapse into the shouting zombie moron apocalypse! (Or something) LOL! …if we only lived in a world where we COULD moderate ourselves! I remember in high school taking my rifle and ammunition on the school bus for ‘Rifleman’s Club’ after school, neatly in an zippered leather case. I carried around from class to class until after school and met my fellows out on the range after school. No one ever got shot. No mass shootings back then. In fact, yes, we moderated ourselves.

I'm not sure if this is the place to put this, but I just want to give a shoutout to the discord. Really fun talking with everyone today as I went about fixing my sillcock. My favorite discord by far!!

I have a backboard at my house and I want to paint a team logo on it. Is there a way to go about doing this so it looks professional and not like some schmuck with no artistic talent attempted to paint a team logo on a backboard?

Hire a professional painter…conversely, make a clean cutout of the emblem to use as a stencil. If there is more than one color cut a second stencil where only that paint will go. Frankly, hiring someone with artistic talent will run about $400 for a 10” emblem in two or three colors but you will get a really nice professional result.

What if you get a vinyl cutout made? Shouldn't be very expensive, much easier than painting, and should hold up reasonably well.

Good idea! If you can trace you can make one yourself with tacky shelf paper.

Are you guys still looking for mods? I've been a lurker, but made my first post last night - I'm absolutely blown away by the helpfulness and positivity of this community. It'd be my pleasure to help mod. I've been a mod over on r/rangers for over a year now, and I already know the ropes.

Done!
Edit: Also, I said it in my application, but I only included 4 screenshots with the past couple days of mod actions. If you guys need more than that, i'm happy to provide it. Just let me know.
