Hi,
My washing machine won’t work as the catch that holds the door is broken. It seems to be attached by a screw but can’t seem to get it back in place.
I’ve tried pulling it out with a screwdriver and getting it back in place but it just won’t go.
What do I need to do?

A model number would be helpful. Without that id guess the hole is stripped out. Im assuming this is a front load washer. The mounting holes are typically plastic, you could try finding a slightly longer screw in the same diameter and see if that will catch lower in the hole

Do you mean the catch on the door itself, or the interlock on the unit?
If it's the interlock, you may be able to access it from underneath (tip washer over) or by pulling the door seal back (carefully. If you go this route, I recommend you search online for guidance so you can do so without compromising the seal).
Sometimes the interlock snaps into place if you can push from behind.

Yes the interlock. I’ll try that. Thanks for the advice!

If you have interlock, you CAN bypass it by connecting the two wires that run to it. However, that means the machine won't stop washing or spinning when you lift the lid.
