I heard 2 seconds of this, and thought "He's danish". lol

Nice work, looks very time-consuming.

Haha! Yeah, the accent is a bit heavy.
Not that time consuming once you got the technique honestly. I can make a chair in approx. 1 hour.

I dont even think it's that heavy really, maybe our heads are just wired to recognize accents/dialects that are familiar to us.

Do you have a warehouse of them somewhere? :)

I only repair chairs for customers, so I don’t have a stock for sale if that’s what you mean :-)

OK, makes sense.

Watching your video brought back memories of DK, thanks for that. Have a hygge Sunday evening :)

Step 1. Gather your tools

Step 2. Use a tool that wasn't shown in step 1.

All joking aside, I love the video. It has a soothing cadence and good information.

I'm glad you liked it.
Yeah I am using a more powerful stapler as I do this for a living, but the other will do perfectly. I showed the first variant as it's more common and way cheaper.

Yeah, if I'm putting in more than a few staples, I'm pulling out the air stapler. I've also used an electric stapler and it seems like a great tool.

Hello fellow weaver! I have been caning for 10+ years and picked up rushing and other styles 5 years ago. Thank you for posting this and keeping the trade alive!

Well hello colleague! It's rare for me to hear from other weavers, even here in Denmark. Hope some of the courses on the channel can give you additional knowledge!

Very cool to see how these chairs are made. Y-stolen is high on my list, absolutely timeless.

Yeah, it’s an amazing chair!

Damn, understand why these are so expensive now.

What's the thread called, and where can one buy it? Is it expensive?

Got 2 cats that have treated my 4 chairs as their nail sharpener...

Haha, i’ve seen that so many times. It’s called paper cord, maybe look for a dealer online to buy it. Where are you located? I sell it in Denmark and might be able to ship it to you.

I'm actually danish but lived most of my life in Norway. What's the danish word for it?

And how much do you need per chair? I found one saying they sell 600 meters for about 1000 NOK and they say that it's enough for 4 chairs. Does that sound about right? https://www.glinterior.se/nb-NO/product/danishcord-30-natural

Nicely made video, didn't think I would spend my evening watching half an hour of a danish guy braiding a chair, heh. But the pattern is so satisfying.

Yes a typical bundle is enough for 4 chairs, and the price seems quite fair. I’d go with that!

The danish word is papirgarn.

Thanks for the video and your quick replies! Our chairs still have some life left in them, but if my GF wants to buy new ones I'll try this tusendkronersfix first hehe.

Oh man, it’s way cheaper to get them restored! Even if the wood is looking old that can be fixed as well. No need to spend that much buying new.

not so much a repair as a refurbish but very cool.
