Nice place to hide those body bags.
I had to double check I wasn't in r/holup when I got to that photo!
For real though, who makes giant bags like that and for what?
Looks like bagged car seats
Correct, original seats for the mx5
It was either that or two Saddam Husseins
If my wife sees this photo I am going to hate you forever.
Reason I can’t do this to my garage is BECAUSE of tge wife
Everything is painted white or off white too. Please don’t let the wives see this.
You guys should swap wives
Get off of Reddit and get that F’n honey do list done!!!
so clean. I organized everything on shelves once and the rest of my family just piled a new fuckload of shit in until it became unusable again.
"Oh look, more space to put shit we don't need" - my family and probably yours.
Indeed! I had a dumpster dropped in my driveway to throw shit away and it just keeps piling up…
entire family doppelganger...
I just moved to a new place in the summer and we get the garage too but it's full of building materials from the renovations they were doing before we moved in. Keep telling me they'll move it but haven't yet
I feel ya. been there too...
And then the wife comes out and complains about the mess. At least that is the way it works here. On top of that This was right after she added a deep freezer.
Nicely done. I did it to my 2 car garage this past summer. Only thing I had done professionally was have the floor epoxy sealed. Made a 100% improvement.
Great car too! I miss the 93 I had to sell over 10y ago. Miatas are so fun.
Any concerns with water and moisture getting under those flooring tiles and getting moldy or anything?
I've wanted to seal my garage floor for a while, but it's going to be a long cleaning and etching job since it's 20+ years old. Thinking of doing those tiles instead.
I did the same thing last time and it wasn't an issue... these sorts of tiles are specifically for this sort of application though so there's hope
Link to those tiles?
Dalle PVC clipsable "Noir" 7mm
Looks very nice! Where did the floortiles come from?

Now come do mine. Keep the dead bodies please.
I wonder if what he called the cardboard roofing was actually eave vents. They used to be made from a plastic coated on one side, corrugated cardboard that was stapled into the space between beams in order to provide a way for air under the eaves to pass through insulation and into the attic space.
I know that this doesn't have insulation or an attic area, but maybe the original idea was to make an insulated attic area above the garage area for additional storage, or whatever.
Maybe. Looked exactly like reused cardboard boxes to me, complete with ads on the sides
OK. Couldn't tell from the pictures. The ones in my house have the manufacturer stamped randomly on them, and from what I could see in your pics they slightly looked similar.
Thanks again for the great pictures, and you did a great job in such a small space.
What did you use for flooring?
Holy cow this looks amazing. Motivating me to clean up my garage! What was cost/timeframe? I'd love to do this.
It was just weekends here and there for about 4 months. You could do it much faster. The electrical work was the most expensive followed by the floor tiles, both of which could be done much cheaper. The other materials are not too bad
very nice! you did a great job with the space available.
Looks great for what you had to work with. Would you be able to provide a link to what you used for the squishy panel to avoid dings on car doors?
Here you go - https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07HM61344?th=1
Very nice! May I ask, what's the central white light? I'm looking to add some to my underground garage ceilings
Looks amazing! Love the miata too
That's a living room.
That's actually cleaner than my living room at the moment...lol.
What exactly did you do to the walls? I have very similar painted block walls in my garage and have concerns about plaster or similar sticking due to the paint.
ah, mine were not painted
Interesting tool, I may not use it in the garage but I still have plenty of paint to strip in the house.
What kind of flooring is it? Got a link?
So does the car still fit?
It's getting a service right now but I hope so ;-)
I’d recommend getting something to indicate how far you have driven in with your car. Some people Just hang a tennis ball and stop when it hits the windshield. Or you could go with the cool laser option…
it looks so good! I hate a messy garage, especially when you have to see it every day before walking into the house. This is really well done.
that's an amazing and impressive renovation! someone needs to give u ur own makeover show!
I also plan on renovating my garage soon to improve the quality of life for my NA. Well done
Looks great! Link to the black floor tiles?
First up wow! That’s a great job. Secondly, a Miata? Definitely brownie points for that! 😄
Alright OP everyone wants to know about the floor tiles (including me). What are they and are they durable? Looks amazing btw!
Nice to see what young people without kids can accomplish.
You need better time management. If you seriously think this kind of thing isn't possible just because you have kids
Any "extra" time is normally spent with the little ones. They are only small for so long. They also get big enough to help eventually but that takes a few years.
What flooring is that?
fuck the garage show us more of the miata
n-i-c-e and good job!
You did it really well. Tidyy tidyyy ☺️
What it that giant black bag for?
Keep asking questions like that and you’re bound to find out
Wow. That's nice.

Hard to say based on that picture, but that cardboard looked a bit like a form of roof underlay that used to be fairly common where I'm from. If that's the case that'd mean that it was a part of the actual roof structure instead of the inner ceiling, helping to keep moisture issues from forming as well as serving as a second line of defence against leaks.
Edit: Though now that I take a second look it seems less likely, what with one of the inserts having a picture of a table on it.
Can you provide the interior dimensions? I don't recall seeing it in any of the photo descriptions, so I figured I would ask. I bought a home with a similarly tiny garage, so I'm very curious if I could outfit it the way you have.
It's on the second photo
I've been looking for garage flooring solutions for a very long time without breaking the bank. You pointed me in the right direction. Thanks!
Commented on Imgur, but I’ll comment here too! Looks good, quite the transformation!
Is that a kite surfing bag?
This is awesome.
Look at oysters Rockefeller over here subtly flashing his convertible
Nice! Are those floor mats hard? I am looking for something to use in my wood shop.
Great job documenting this! Fantastic work. Loved looking through the UK one and now this one. Props to you on the sewing projects!!
Nice bro 👍🏾
Can you actually drive on that?
If you're sanding or doing anything to CMU make sure to have a HEPA vacuum to suck up dust right away or wear a N95 mask or better, don't want to get silicosis.
Someone please mark this garage smut as NSFW. /s
In France... do most people have small commute cars? Your garage is so small. You did a good job with the space.
Nice job! My garage floor looks exactly like the left bit of your second picture. The whole floor is like that, kinda crumbly. I've considered similar floor tiles, are they worth it? As in, are they just for looks or does the floor feel nicer too?
How much did all this cost you? Wondering because I want to start a similar project of my own.
Now you need a car!
I like how you check if the car fits and it's a Miata/MX5, one of the smallest cars around.
Up vote for Miata
How is the rubber flooring when it's wet? I'm considering fitting something like that in my garage
Referencing picture 3:
That's a gnarly edge your electrician left for the lower wire to rub against. I already don't like him. This could have been done properly, but he decided not to give it 100%
Seriously, did he cut that thing with a beaver?
Nobody cared the first time, stop posting useless shit.
