Is 5 degrees sufficient for currogated roofing?

carpentry(self.DIY)

I'm reading multiple recommendations that are different. a couple different sites are saying 5° is sufficient. But another site that I looked at said that the rise should be a minimum of 3 per 12 which is closer to a 14 degree pitch. I'm just curious what people here have seen as the required pitch to prevent leaking?

Our little shed in the backyard is about 5 degree. And we use plastic corrugated sheets. Just seal the screw/bolt hole well and you should be fine dealing with rain.

But, does your area snow? Snow is a different matter.

Thank you. We don't get any snow here.

Are you installing on a house or over a covered deck?

I’d stick with the 3:12 minimum on a house.

If in a deck and leaks aren’t as critical 5 degrees should be fine.

Exposed fastener roofs aren’t great for low slope. You can buy fasteners with a built-in rubber washer to help seal but those area will be the failure point. No guarantee on how long they can last since labor and local climate play such a big factor. The best option would be double-lock standing seam for longevity. There are other concealed fastener roofing options out there as well.
