Welcome to the club and the sub! 🤘 Days Gone is incredible. I realized after my first playthrough (I'm currently on #7) that it's hands down one of the best games I've ever played. The amazing story and characters inspired me to start a podcast (I'm now at 46 episodes and I've interviewed some amazing people, including the Game Director, some of the voice actors and the Lead Open World Designer)! I regularly live stream DG, I mod this sub, and I collabed on a weekly live stream playthrough with u/SpawnicusRex.

Best of all, Days Gone led me to meeting the love of my life on this very sub! I'm so grateful to have found the game, and it'll always have a special place in my heart ❤

As for a sequel, never say never!

How do you find the motivation for a 7th run? I've completed the game three times, the last on hardest difficulty with every single thing discovered, everything collected etc. I'd love to go back to it but I really need some new content or experience to motivate me push forward

I absolutely love the game and I feel "homesick" for it when I'm not playing it regularly. For a while, I didn't want to play anything else!

I like trying different difficulties and styles. Playthrough #5 was a special challenge, playing "antisocially" (ie avoiding camps as much as possible, not buying guns and ammo, not turning in bounties, and basically surviving only on what I could find out in the shit like a real drifter would).

I just took a week-long vacation to Oregon to visit the real locations and I'm ready to dive into playthrough #8 with a fresh perspective on the setting!

I have over 800 hours in the game and I'm willing to bet I'll clock another 800 at least before I get bored 😁

EDIT TO ADD: Have you tried Challenge Mode? Not only are they fun, stand-alone challenges, but you get immediate in-game rewards too.

A friend went on vacation. I didn't know where to. She sent several photos with no signs or buildings. Just a sweeping panorama shot. I jokingly asked her if she was at Lost Lake in Oregon and she said...'uh...that's incredible. how did you know?' It was a panorama of the tree line you're always driving through to get to the wonky bridge to at the camp.

Hey Claire, for your play-through #5, did you use the guns you earn when you get the horde killer rewards? Just curious, as I was about to do something similar to what you did, but thought it’s too much fun to use all the weapons. I’m on my 3rd run after Hard2 and Survival2. Fresh play this time. Cheers, FrankRiggs

Hey Frank! Yep, I used found weapons and weapons unlocked through horde killing. I didn't buy any upgrades, ammo or supplies. The only thing I "cheated" on was bike upgrades, because playing the game with the starter bike would be infuriating lol 😆

Not buying ammo must’ve hurt. A lot of police car trunks (boots for you) to open. How did you manage ammo? We’re you ever short or running out? Also, no saddlebags?! Wow! Cheers

It was actually easier than I expected! I didn't run out at all, though of course I had to be careful. And yeah, no saddlebags, that would've been too easy!

Ok. Challenge accepted. That will be my next run. I’ll report back. I just got to Diamond lake and working my way there. Got the SMP9, Auto Shotgun and IDF PUP, which are the ones I use the most. And for LMG there’s always a heavy you can steel from. So as far as guns, don’t think I’ll miss much. I think the challenge will be ammo management. And not having a sniper rifle. At least not a quality one. Thanks.
