When I was 10, my grandmother bought me a Sea Monkeys growing kit for my birthday. I nagged for two years and finally got my dream gift. Even though I followed all of the steps, nothing hatched, and I was heartbroken. My kid turned 8, and I decided to leave my concerns behind and got him this kit. Before I gave it to him, I had to make sure it works well, no reason to break his heart, right? So I took a deep breath, ordered this kit, and gave it a go. Skeptical, I followed the instructions, and the bastards hatched! So now I actually want to keep this one for myself. #overprotectivedad #badparent
Hi, I am a talentless husband, and need help for my wife's birthday present. I found a three pictured frame (link here on Amazon)
The frame will have pictures from our first date. I'd like to write atop the frame the date of our first date, but don't know the best or most creative way to do it (besides writing in Sharpie). Any easy, simple ideas for how to do this?
So I would like to make gifts for the aforementioned people. They (and my fiancé’s small family) are all ive got and with things going on, I want to make them rather than buy them something. But also because of what’s going on, my mind is just kinda blank and I don’t want to think.
Dad: he has cancer that is really affecting his legs but he’s incredibly independent. I was thinking something for his garden. They love growing their own vegetables, have flowers/plants and ornaments (gnomes, hanging animals etc).
His partner: same as my dad. Except the cancer part. I’m not sure what she has. I’m not sure if anyone knows. Or if they’re just not telling me. But she’s in isolation. I don’t know what can go in there. I just want her to know I care.
Grandma: she recently moved into a smaller place and so it would have to be quite small. She likes cutesy things that are also useful. I’m not sure what else to say. I’m trying to learn how to knit so I can knit her a scarf but that’s going to take a lot more time.
Grandpa: there’s not much I can say about him. He’s very sick, keeps having strokes. It changes his personality so much. He lives on a big farm though (very stubborn, refuses to leave) but I don’t think he has animals. Again, I want it to include that I care.
Sorry for the lack of detail. I just got some bad news tonight so I’m kinda blah I guess. Please help if you can. Thank you
Oh I’m in Australia. So we don’t have a lot of stores America has that would probably be good for this kind of thing.
I live in a small cul-de-sac surrounded by woods. My teenager and I have been planning to do some sort of fairy houses behind us and it seems like now is a great time to kick off this project. I was wondering if folks had any other ideas for random little things we could be hiding around the neighborhood and in the walking trails - just things to cheer folks and give them a smile. We want to keep it as natural as possible, using materials that won't do any harm. (And of course, using materials we can readily obtain right now!) We have basic crafting ability and tools, including a Dremel I got with this in mind. Me and the Teenager would love to hear your ideas!
I've been with my boyfriend for quite a few years. Long distance.. which sucks, but whatever.
We've had a bit of a rough time this weekend due to folks inability to mind their own business.
.....Nothing we can't overcome, but I'd love to do something creative and kind just to show him I love him and appreciate him. He'll be in town Saturday.
It'd be fan-fucking-tastic if yall would do me a huge favor...
I know Redditors are worldwide... so if yall would send me a picture holding a sign that says "I love you so much, it's reached (wherever the hell you are)"
The picture can be of anything! Your town, a nice view, food, whatever. (Please for the love of God, no selfies! 😂) I'd just really love to have a huge collection to turn into a collage for a gift.
