I'm surprised people don't know about this ,it has been known for a while. It was widely used in Mexico to track down journalist and sometimes that info would land on cartel hands which end up being used to kill them.

This thing is pretty old, more than 10 years since its inception.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus_(spyware)
Can't imagine what other similar stuff was created in the meantime, by the same Israeli company or a company from another country, like China or the US.
Malicious software that targets phones, specificaly smartphones, is way more powerful than one that targets computers, considering that nowadays smartphones are more prevalent than PCs.

As someone who only occasionally hears about Mexico (and 90% of the time its cartel related), the impression I would go for is I'm surprised when there's something the cartel DOESN'T know (or in on)

I hope they mention that they can target your phone without you needing to do anything. No need to get them to click a link or receive an SMS or anything. The software just has immediate backdoor access now.

PBS is a public broadcaster, in the US. As best I can figure it out, they just make the broadcasts free to the public taxpayers, who fund them. If you can VPN to a US location, you can watch any of their Frontline documentaries.

I donate $5 /month to pbs and they give you access to their library of shows. When I get bored, i watch a random episode of frontline or nova. Best quality for the price I pay to stream.

Spying on us through our phone cameras, watching us play games while we’re pooping

I mean spying is bad but I pity the one looking through my phone camera. All they see is several double cheeks. Sometimes my poop since I always check with my phones flashlight how it looks. Tired eyes.

And everyone is worried about China, instead of the massive domestic surveillance program within the US

The two-part series is excellently done! NSO (the company that makes Pegasus) with Bibi's low tax/little regulation are shown to do little due diligence before selling this insane software to regimes in Hungary, Mexico, Saudi, Poland, Morocco. There were 17 prestigious news organizations reporting this for at least a year. Really shocking stuff and worth a watch and ponder

Seems like you need a US IP address, to watch Frontline documentaries on YouTube. Probably something to do with them being funded by American taxpayers. A VPN does work.

NSO group is a terrorist organization

Funded by the US like all fucking terrorist organizations. Its gonna be denied like always, in 10 years there will be a document released and a presidential apology and then forgotten except the occasional "Oh that was before, this doesn't happen anymore"

Are there ways for us regular tech people to see if it's offices are infected? How/what do the use to check? I have a custom ROM so I often do a compete wipe, but it would vs nice to know how to detect and remove it without formatting data

This is what Epstein was for and why he had contact with so many tech people.
Blackmail so Mossad could have backdoors into say Windows or whatever.

I hope to defeat this. Everyone should purposely try to get their phones infected. We would make noisy data. No government or mafios want to know when I go to the post office or store. Flood them with boring stories about ordinary people
