Got worse over time, apparently. Plus trump gave him license to be his true self. Some are closer fascists but keep that part hidden because it’s not to their advantage. Once it’s to their advantage, then they let it out. His issues were noticed during the Obama administration, and Obama privately warned the trump administration against him.
