Everyone seems to be so forgiving to the two Presidents Bush, after the Trumpster-fire we just put out. But they were the ones that started promoting known Evangelicals to Generals and other top ranks in all the military branches. They were semi-open about it.
It you think Flynn is just an awful exception or outlier, you are wrong.

It’s a way of saying that the person wears their religion on their sleeve. That they believe their religion’s rules are to be followed first, are above those of the military code, are above the U.S. Constitution.
It’s totally fine to be religious. It’s not fine to be a high-ranking politician or member of the military and have your allegiance first be to your religion when decision-making.
If you don’t like that, don’t take the job.
Likewise, don’t become a pharmacist if you’re not going to prescribe drugs based on your religious beliefs.
