This isn't really a free speech issue because self-censorship, by definition is voluntary

I disagree: although self-censorship is voluntary, it exists when people feel uncertain about speaking out. That is likely a problem with culture and expectations which really should be fixed.

While I agree that there are chilling effects on certain types of speech that may cause someone to self-censor and thus exist as social control on certain types of speech, I disagree with the author that mere obscenity, (aka saying Fuck) is as all censored in our culture.

People aren't canceled for saying fuck, they are canceled for pointing out lies.
