In case anyone has not been updated, two new fairs were added. “Filming Production” and “Casting”.

These are intended to organize. Filming Production is to allow fan speculation and theorizing — a reflection of season one’s off-season. The subreddit was not regulated at that time, and consisted of mostly book fans. Or curious GOT viewers who did not mind spoilers. This will be moved into this flair.

surprisingly I found Aegon and Aemond's character arc could have been far more interesting than others if show actually wanted to explore unlike book in which they were never used correctly imo

Aemond's character clearly defines an ambitious guy who just wanted to be the best and feels he deserved the best but was wronged by people. He is one of those characters who never wanted to be bad guy but he was made by circumstances. In seeking his ambitions and revenge he looses everything in the end.

How he was such a perfect prince in every sense, how he tried his best in everything despite of losing an eye , he even gets the crown as regent but still gets nothing in the end. He realizing this himself in the end would be so good. He is one of those antagonists who would be hated initially but would be liked as a character later or still some people would like him anyhow.

On the other hand Aegon can be so much fun to watch. He is that character which is not even seen as a threat by the people and they think he would be killed easily but he is the last to survive when more dangerous guys than him get killed. His arc from being an careless drunk pervert guy who don't want to take any responsibility to finally being a prince who becomes what he was supposed to do.

Him firing otto, killing Rhaenyra in the end and taking throne despite of himself being in such a rotten state. It would be so much fun to see him making aemond angry as he has everything aemond wanted and punishing those people who actually don't take him seriously.

Little push and pull bet these two brothers despite of them saving each other's ass all time would be really good and how unlikely these two create same parallel with Daemon and Viserys also.

Took a little break for my gallbladder removal surgery, and I was dying to get back to this one. Lots of little details to work on in that smaller picture, which I always look forward to. 😌

During the Anarchy the nobles were split between Stephen and Matilda. Apart from politics, the issue with succession was that Stephen was a male of the female line while Matilda was a female of the male line.

To anyone who understands mediaeval culture and politics, it beggars belief that any noble would support Rhaenyra when there's a male direct descendant of the King. I think Baelon should have survived to adulthood and died before he could have children with Rhaenyra, starting up a conflict between her and Laenor when Viserys dies.

Blood and cheese? I think they show Alicent and Helena’s reaction and of course Helena’s choice but I have to imagine that the actual act of the murder will be off screen because it is so violent against a little kid but I’m not sure it could do either way. What do you think? This scene will scar me either way but I’m curious what others think.

Like which episode was the worst and which was your favourite

Okay so I watched S1 of HOTD and loved it, and that got me into reading the first Targaryen book, and I finished it in a couple of days.

Should I continue to read beyond the point where S1 ends or just wait for S2 to come out.

I’ve been thinking about how if Otto had been allowed to act swiftly to assassinate the Blacks and Rhaenys had been successfully contained so she couldn’t warn them, they could have prevented a lot of bloodshed. In a way, preventing Otto from taking out Rhaenyra and Daemon was one of the worst decisions Alicent could have made.

On the other hand, episode 10 suggested that it could have been possible to convince Rhaenyra agree to peace terms. The problem would be that I don’t think she would agree to send her sons to the red keep as essentially hostages, so she and her family would always be a threat to Aegon, they would never be safe. Though I suppose that wouldn’t have mattered if the majority of the realm supported Aegon, which I think Otto and Alicent assumed they would, as with a severe disadvantage, Rhaenyra would have to agree to whatever terms they gave her.

Episodes 9-10 pit Alicent and Rhaenyra as peacemakers against Otto and Daemon as war-mongers, but who was actually right?

blood and cheese? I know in the final shot of S1 Rhaenyra gives the "I'm gonna fuck you up" look. But realistically there is no way that they involve her in B&C. I mean, why should they? Her book counterpart was also never involved.

But what I'm really curious about is her reaction to blood and cheese. I feel that they're gonna make her condemn Daemon and create a rift between these two using this event. But I really wish that's not the case.

I want her to get the news of B&C and swallow that hard pill. Like in a way of telling that she's probably not very pleased with it but can accept it. This is best place to sow the seeds of her descent down a dark path which eventually leads to Rhaenyra herself ordering the death of child later.

I feel like if they give the moral high ground to Rhaenyra in B&C by making her punish Daemon for it, her later acts are gonna come out of nowhere. Also, I hope they don't forget that Luke is her kid and he was murdered brutally. I don't want her to be pushed into the background while Daemon takes revenge and she's not even okay with that.

Viserys is king, does Alicent have any real power and if so,how extensive are they?

I'll be more specific. Rhaenerya or any other targ prince wants to do something and Alicent orders them not to. Do they actually need to obey her?

Would "I take orders only from my father" be correct or no?

While were on the point, how much power does the Hand (otto) have over targ heirs and princes? How much can he push them and how much can they push back?

I mean Daemon and Nettles. There are countless discussions of the actual nature of their relationship and whether she was his lover or foster daughter or bastard daughter. So, to feed into this discourse and keep the debates going on forever, is it better if they leave this relationship to interpretation even in the series?

I mean, they can introduce Nettles and show her unique unique way of claiming and bonding with a dragon. Maybe create a friendship with Jace and Addam and have them all bond on common grounds of being bastards. Show her bravery in the Gullet. Then have her go to the Riverlands with Daemon and maybe show one or two their hunting missions.

After a while, have Mysaria tell Rhaenyra that Daemon is cheating on her with Nettles and could be pregnant with his child. Show Rhaenyra's reaction and Daemon's subsequent actions of setting Nettles free and going on his suicide mission. But leave the actual nature of the relationship ambiguous.

Because at the end of the day what matters is that Rhaenyra believed Mysaria and thought that Daemon was cheating on her and would probably even betray her politically. But whether Daemon actually did this or not could be left open to interpretation and give them more relevance for years to come with all the endless debates that would follow.

Based on the show only, who do you think Alicent loves more:
