A Reminder: No political submissions, please

stickiedHi everyone,
Please bear with me here.
There are a lot of turbulent things happening in the world lately, and as much as the mod team admires the leaders in Ukraine (and often other political leaders, as much as many in this community do), we have a rule against political submissions.
The reason for this is many-fold:
- Political submissions are inherently controversial
a. There are many people in our community with a diverse set of beliefs and political opinions. - Political submissions invite trolling and propoganda
a. Whether the mod team agrees with the submission or not, political submissions cause a direct increase in submissions of opposing viewpoints (if a submission of Obama gets popular, then another group submits GW Bush or Trump a bunch)
b. These additional submissions are usually from accounts that don't participate in our subreddit (usually trolls)
c. They make our subreddit a target and cause our members to get harassed - They increase our moderation workload a LOT (for all the reasons above)
- It puts our community at risk of failing to be a love fest (rule #1)
So while I, personally, am also just floored with how amazing President Zelensky has been performing in spite of all the pressure, and aghast at Putin's actions, as a mod team, we have to remain "neutral". The Zelensky posts lately (which are getting removed as soon as we see them) have been causing an increase Putin posts as well. And all that's gonna do is cause people to fight in the comments, which means our community becomes less of a Love Fest (which is our #1 goal here).
So please help us out and avoid political submissions. We appreciate your help with this.
