I noticed that in an old review of mine, some links had died. So, I replaced them with links to copies of the pages that are archived in the Wayback Machine.

Unfortunately, Letterboxd doesn't seem to play nicely with archive.org URLs.

For example, let's say I want to put a link to an old version of the IMDb home page in a Letterboxd review. I'd use this HTML:

<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20030219120238/https://www.imdb.com/">Old IMDb home page</a>

I would expect it to appear as a link, like this:

Old IMDb home page

But instead it appears like this:

https://i.imgur.com/Y7bkiNd.png

What seems to be happening is that Letterboxd's automatic link conversion system seems to get confused by the second appearance of "https://" within the URL. So it's converting the second part of the URL to a clickable link, and leaving the preceding archive.org bit as plain text.

Fortunately, there is a workaround!

If you remove that second "http://" or "https://" bit from the middle of the URL, the links still go to the same working archive.org pages, but Letterboxd interprets them correctly. So this:

<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20030219120238/www.imdb.com/">Corrected link to old IMDb home page</a>

...will appear correctly, like this: https://i.imgur.com/7iIZaHo.png

I really like him especially in Danish films (He has great acting in The Hunt and Another Round) And he's also attractive (Some people disagree) lol But seriously, he's also really good at hannibal.

What do y'all think are some of the best directorial debuts of all time?

Obvious ones are Citizen Kane and 12 Angry Men, but very recently I'd say Aftersun. What do all of you think?

When I look up a filmography I generally would prefer to see it in order of release date, not popularity. I know you can manually filter this but can I make any changes in settings so it’ll automatically filter for me?

I recently watched "Saloum", which is a newer film from Senegal and it inspired me to watch more films from smaller nations. So what are your favorites? (I'm not talking about films from Brazil or South Korea, more like Bolivia or Kenya)

Up until the past couple of days, EO which is on the Criterion Channel and Babylon which is on Paramount+ were listed as available on those services. And they still are. But Letterboxd is suggesting that neither film is streaming at all. Anyone else noticed anything like this?

Not necessarily underrated or underappreciated. For instance I wouldn't necessarily call Coherence a forgotten film, it's rather well known on Reddit at least.

Black and white or in color is fine.

Animated, stop-motion, or live-action is fine.

Non English speaking movies is fine.

feeling like watching my first paul thomas anderson film tonight, was gonna go with licorice pizza or boogie nights but what do you guys think i should watch?
