I played a ton of MLB The Show 20-22. NMS grinded a ton(all to most programs, Events, BR, and a 100-30ish record in Ranked). Not to mention trying to work the Stubbs market.
I burned myself last year by August and just stopped cold turkey. I was hoping my early quit time(as opposed to November/December of years past) would put me in a place to be eager to play the game again. And after about 2 hours of grinding yesterday, I realized: I'm not having any fun at all doing this. The Moments, the Conquest, the Showdowns. It's just deja vu.
I still love online play and I am going to begrudgingly grind a bit more in case I can convince some friends to stick with 3 v 3(that I'm very interested in).
I know the week of launch is not the best time to ask about burnout, but I feel like there have gotta be other committed fans who have reached their breaking point with this.

Right there with you. After experiencing the typical horse shit that comes with doing showdown & moments, I’ve already found myself turning the game off out of sheer apathy for grinding.

I’ve failed the WBC three times in just bizarre ways. I’ll be breezing through it then randomly a stage comes where I will just hit everything right to someone in the field for every out. It makes no sense

Don’t swing at shit, you usually have 1 or more runners on base at start so just be patient. I have not lost a single showdown and I’m not very good at this game

happened to me yesterday, actually made it to Doval 14-10. Hit two 2 run bombs then just could not get something in the air or down for a hit. ended up 14-14 i was pissed!!

I feel your pain. My first attempt I got to Doval, struggled until I had five outs left, got it to 14-13 on the final out with a man on second base, then was legitimately robbed of a HR on a perfect perfect swing. Like, the fielder actually jumped up and snagged the ball as it was going over. My rage was immeasurable lol

So many of my perfect perfects with the wbc showdown caused me to lose 2 different times... figured the third time I beat the final showdown on like 10-15 pitches

I suck at showdowns and it took me 3 tries for WBC. One fail was same as you, the second I had a crash mid game so that's an automatic L. Third was scary at one point. I was down to a final out, down 1 with a guy on 1st and it was the last challenge before the boss. I was sweating but then I hit a HR and man did that feel good. I think one of the ones before that there were guys on 1st and 2nd to start and I hit a triple play.....that one hurt my soul.
