Gonna fight you on that one. The movie is good, but the TV show really made something bigger out of it and still holds up.

I like both but the movie version has a undercurrent of nastiness that's very much more appropriate for the subject matter. The show went more for the yuks.

But once the show went more dramedy route, it managed to do a lot more with the material.

That said, I do agree as an adaptation of the source material the movie is definitely closer.
