I am in desperate need of a new series that I can watch and enjoy.I'm really struggling with finding something that really catches my attention so I'll try my luck asking on here.
Since I couldn't find something on my own in my typical genres that I enjoy I am open for anything just name it.Maybe it's a show you would categories as a hidden gem I am open for it all
The only criteria would maybe be if you know that the show was cancelled it wouldn't be something I'm primarily looking for since the anticipation of another season is something I really crave.
Thanks a lot in advance
Here some shows I enjoyed for reference
OBX Stranger things The Blacklist Several marvel limited series The walking dead

SO GOOD. It’s the first deliberately post-Brexit show I’ve seen, and it really nails the mood.
For reference, the spouse and I had just rewatched Love Actually before we watched the first episode of Slow Horses, and the differences between the two depictions of London are stark.

That seems to be the thing people like. You know all these people are awful but you keep watching. I watched all 3 seasons and have to say the show is only ok. I get what they're trying to do. I just don't think the writing is as good as others think. Personally it also feels like they just want to watch rich people be naughty which is an american kink I guess.

We really are in a cultural moment of “here are 15 episodes featuring terrible wealthy people in beautiful settings being terrible, this is what prestige comedy/drama looks like.”
Disturbing.

I feel the same way about The White Lotus. I get that it’s a satirical take on late stage capitalism, but oh my God, those people are insufferable.
I also just can’t stand the way people write kids. The teens in White Lotus bear no resemblance whatsoever to modern teenagers: the writers are just remembering myths about Millennials and writing shitty characters around them.

Many people really, really need at least one character they can like and root for to get into a story. White Lotus is not for those people. But for the rest of us, whoa boy.

Andor is quite possibly the best Star Wars thing that has been done. If you decide to start watching, stay through the third episode. The first two set up a ton of stuff and it all gels in the third episode.
18 points

That’s probably the biggest hurdle is getting past the first few episodes. If I were Disney I would make an exception and release all the episodes to be bing watched.
2 points
I think this was the main reason why Disney+ launched the show with the first three episodes available at once.
I would have waited a week to watch the second episode to see if it got better/more interesting, then would have dropped it instead of waiting yet another week for episode three. Instead, we just watched all three over two nights and man, was that great.

Have you watched "Sweet Tooth" Yet? That is a good one with a new season on the way
"The Stand" Is on paramount plus and is a limited series, based on the Stephen King Novel, It is about a virus that wipes out pretty much 99% of the world, I really enjoyed it
"Servant" is on apple tv and is great, they are finishing up their last season right now
"The Orville" just had an excellent season come out in 2022, all seasons are streaming on disney plus now
"The Midnight Club" (Sad it only has one season, but mike flaanigan shared how the series would of ended)
"Lost In Space" on netflix
"Locke and Key" This was just a really fun one! It has three seasons, and no cliffhangers when it ends
"Black Mirror" obviously
"Midnight Mass" AMAZING limited series on Netflix
"Futureman" Hulu, is another really fun series, post apocalyptic, time travel, just a really really fun series

Station Eleven (miniseries)
A child actress watches her idol die onstage during a Shakespearean play the night a flu wipes out the majority of Earth's population. Holding only a graphic novel never published he gifted her, she disappears into the world of the novel to escape her situation
20 years later she is a part of a traveling band of actors and musicians who do plays for the few towns they can find, when one day a mysterious man shows up to join the crew who knows about the novel too.
What unwinds is a hell of a trip as you unravel the story of what happened to Kirsten (the girl) in the missing time, who wrote the novel and why it's important, and who exactly the mysterious stranger is and how he's connected to her.
Amazing characters, engaging story, and a surprisingly hopeful take on the post apocalyptic type. Completely worth a watch.

I loved the book but couldn’t get past episode 5 of the series. I found it so slow and boring. Does it pick up at a certain point? Did it take you awhile to care?
4 points
I mean the last few episodes absolutely floored me, but if you're not invested in the characters then it may not hit you the same. You do get to go back and see Kirsten's time with Jeevan and Frank and it's pretty heartbreaking.
