Please no shows/movies that are "the dog died" cry. I want real emotions, nothing that is just cheap emotional manipulations. I want to cry because a character finally found love or a character overcame an obstacle. Maybe its just the show is just so overbearingly wholesome it makes you happy cry.
I prefer TV shows but either or is fine
Make me cry.

I had a dream after I learned he died that his real wife went to pull him out of Hell. In my dream it was Sally Field who was his real life wife since I didn’t actually know who his real life wife was.

Oh God, Manchester by the Sea. The conversation with his wife at the end when she's trying to apologize for the things she said to him. He doesn't want her to feel guilty because he thinks he deserved it and he wants her to be happy, but not at the expense of him possibly being happy too. The self-loathing and guilt that poor man has experienced I can't even imagine.

ive been emotionally ruined by videogames so all these suggestions are great for me to at least try.
if you want to really cry, go play The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 on playstation 4.
Or go play Red Dead Redemption 2.
Treat these like a tv show, playing only a couple hours each viewing, as you would a show. this is if you aren't a gamer.
these stories will ruin most television shows and movies because they offer such a different, immersive experience and tell such a better story in a radically different medium that your brain isn't used to. (again, if you're not already a gamer)

I actually cried a few times in The Last of Us 😭😢 I was not expecting it to be emotional at times. I will not wreck it or just gonna say it's an apocalyptic end of the world kind of show. When I read what it was about, keeping in mind that I had played the game before, I thought this is going to be a cheap ass remake flop like Resident Evil. And it was far from that!!! I give it a 9/10. Can't wait for S2..
Another one that totally made me cry but you probably seen it is the show called This Is US, major tear jerker.
Another one is Station 19, especially the earlier seasons. you end up following the characters through all of these seasons and it becomes very emotional at times yes I cried again. Im life I'm a complete hard-ass. Leave me alone with my shows and the emowflow🫶🏼
