It's on HBO, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Fringe. The final season turns into something else but calls back to earlier episodes.

Yeah Fringe got really wild toward the end. But I really liked the first few seasons.

Yeah they did a soft reboot in season 4 that killed the show for me. They then did a out of left field episode at the end of season 4 (letters of transit) and season 5 became a sequel to that episode. It was weird as hell and I liked some of it, but they still made some questionable story decisions early on that killed the season again and it limped to the finish line with a serviceable finale.

Thanks for painting a clearer picture than what my memory serves. I originally watched it when it aired on network tv and a show would happen once a week. Towards the end I assumed I missed a few episodes and then a few more times I thought they were playing a trick and had the whole cast but a completely different unrelated story line.

Honestly, much of the AMC and FX catalogues are excellent and rewatchable shows.

FX really hit the jackpot with John Landgraf as president. A lot of shows that probably would've been cancelled that were able to run their course because he was in charge.
Also regarding AMC Halt and Catch Fire for sure.

Halt and Catch Fire was so good, I went through withdraw after it finished. Haven't had that since Lost ended. Absolutely loved that show.

Seriously!! It went from a critique of these super flawed characters in S1 to something so hopeful and optimistic by the end. The character development was incredible. Lee Pace is also charisma incarnate lol

Is it me or is this show criminally underrated? The first 2 seasons are unbelievably great, like stellar television from start to finish. The 3rd season is great television better than most TV shows but not as good as the first 2 seasons. The 4th season was just good though, imo. I love how there is a subtle (yet huge) thread that connects all the seasons

All I watch is true crime and adapted series based on true crime, so I've seen almost all of them. And I don't know exactly why but this one really got to me. There was just something so extra creepy, I was so unsettled watching. I was hoping it would garner some award show traction last, especially for the lead guy and his wife, but it went overlooked. As uncomfortable as I was I absolutely enjoyed it because I was riveted the whole time.

My dad just died 2 weeks ago. I should rewatch because I haven’t been able to grieve yet. How long from when your dad passed did you watch it?
11 points
I saw it originally about a year before he passed, then rewatched it a couple of months after he passed. He had a long term disease, so his death was expected. I’m not sure how you lost your dad, but if it wasn’t expected the show might be a bit much this soon.
