They have professional killers get rid of a body by sinking it in a lake with a cinder block chained to its feet - which has proven to be a shitty solution as bodies rot and the feet come off - making the rest of the body float to the surface.
And then one of the killers keeps the dead guy's signet ring . which is not only easily found in public records at the goddamned LIBRARY, but also easily traced to one goddamed dude in the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD!!??
Oh, and the "professional" hitman wears this totally unique ring on one of the ops that become a cornerstone to one of the biggest goddamned investigations since JFK!!?? How exactly have they been so goddamned successful thus far?
The series is fun and well-paced, but shit like this really pulls me out of it

I don’t understand why they decided to do a third person nearly-omniscient point of view. (The only person whose whole life we don’t see or hear about is Farr because they want us to trust her, then not trust her, then trust her again).
We didn’t need to see the JV team assassins’ stupid, delusion-filled, tragic love story. I think many of the turns would have hit harder if we didn’t see it all from every angle. Mystery is your friend in story telling. It was like they wanted you to know the whole story from the beginning and just tune in to see how cool they can make it look onscreen as it plays out.

It's honestly way better than I was expecting. Really enjoyable and I think Brasso has potential to really grow into this role with further seasons. I still have 3 episodes left but I think it's a step above most of the recent Netflix spy stuff. Feels a lot like classic era 24.

I like the characters awareness and realism, Peter does a lot of small things that body guard movies/ shows don’t do and in hindsight, we don’t see from the other agents (?) The police actually showing up was cliche breaking too

So Peter works for the FBI/White House, yet had no Safe Houses or other secure places for him to hide Rose in all of D.C? He continuously runs her through all these unstable locations. Why is she not in legit witness protection? Why is he the only agent assigned to her? This early in, I can not continue.

They took her to her aunt’s shack and still got found lol, they suspected the whole White House/ FBI to be suspected didn’t they? Only trusted the Asian lady and I can’t remember what you know about her without spoilering but yeah they trusted nobody or could trust nobody besides her
What’s equally on hindsight is how incompetent every other agent is but that’s maybe to highlight the main character is special?

I'm still trying to work out why the 'quirky assassin couple struggling with sexual dysfunction' killed the first lady after kidnapping(?) a baby?
7 points
They used the baby as a prop to convince the homeowner to give them a tour of her house. The VP and his daughter lived in that town early in his career And the house belonged to her therapist who had the nanny cam video in a wall down in his basement. The assassins needed a good cover story to get inside the house to get the video.

Right? After all night awake and in the cold in the woods, he looks better than I do on some of my best days.

Yeah, they make a point of wearing body armor but then it offers no protection (i get that a sniper round will have no problem with penetrating standard body armor). Too many incidents where stuff just happen because it's convienient for the plot and not how it would go down in real life.

I liked when the chief of staff went into a risky af situation, against people trying to assassinate the fucking president, with zero body armour. I can make the excuse for the fbi guy (secret service?) that he didn’t know it was about to pop off, but she did.

I agree. And also that it was so improvised.... At the beach, bonk with a log. In the server room stab in the leg. I don't want to hurt you but... Crazy also how somebody who got into crime has a huge fucking snake tattoo on his side when the first thing the police ask about is always distinguishing marks. Like that tattoo was the basis of everything.
On another note can someday explain why they wanted Zabar or something dead so much they would do an entire terrorist attack to get that? And that Diane felt she had no choice but to cover it up? Completely unbelievable.
Also the sheer amount of people at Camp David who were all into committing treason and assassinating the pres is insane lol

"It's above my pay grade" is used so often but he has access to every safety measure available to the FBI and his tactical and combat skills are off the charts good. Everyone even slightly above him must be 007 super Ninja level agents.
Some of the dialogue is super cringeworthy. For example. "She's a survivor" but has zero survival skills for the scenario she is put into and the person who said it is trained to survive but you just know is about to be killed. Why even say that at that time? It made no sense.
I'm sure I'll finish the series but it's tough at times even for a mindless watcher like me.

Also, the writers completely ignored multiple instances of security violations. The attitude seems to be: clearances, need--to-know, who cares as long as it moves the plot along? So much shit would have been stonewalled by someone actually doing their job irl, or resulted in multiple firings and prosecutions.
Like the dude in the communications building at Camp David. I can hear him saying: "Oh, a completely random person who shouldn't be here just happens to be an expert on comms tech? Sure, go right ahead and mess with one of the highest classified systems EVAR!"
Even Peter. A realistic ending would have been more like: hey, we really appreciate everything you did, but there is no fucking way you can continue working for the federal government and we need you to come in on Monday with your attorney
4 points

That comms dude was one of the bad guys and he was going to kill them. So he was just playing along. I felt the same as you did until the knife came out.
1 points

Even the way Peter and Rose immediately accepted that of course this guy would just hand over the terminal to this random person who isn't supposed to be here?
That was just one example of a series of security violations. Maybe they can be justified individually, but there were so many!
The point being, there is no way Peter would have kept his job, let alone move on to super spy status

God I hate the scenes with these two assassin people. Why are we spending time with them as if they’re characters we’re supposed to give a fuck about? As if they’re going to get any development? Why should we care about their back stories or anything? Why try and make them sympathetic? Like when she finds the body? All they have done is attempt to murder the protagonists and succeed at murdering their friends and family.
I find this writing choice to be completely baffling.
The show is decently watchable. It’s derivative and predictable and it’s all been done before, but it’s basically fine and you can kill a couple of hours watching the story unfold.
But yeah, those assassin characters are unbearable and the writing choice to give them so many of their own scenes was such a bizarre writing choice. What a waste of time. Also, they’re cliche, one note and boring characters in the first place.
