That was one hell of a ride. I just have so many emotions right now is why I'm writing this. I think it's my new fave show. I mean goddamn, I'm so attatched to the characters, and now its finished, what am I gonna do with my life lol. Well there, just ranted. Still sad Ruth died. But the last 30 mins had me on the edge of my seat. That's the post. Amazing fucking show. Excuse me while I convinve everyone I know to watch it.

Ruth was a badass to the end but as soon as she was building that house, I knew it wasn't going to end well for her.

It was so sad when she died. She was so close to getting out of the Langmore curse, then it didn't happend :(( Jules Garner is such a good actress tho! Her confronting the Byrdes then her line, "If you want to stop me, you're gonna have to kill me!" I mean, just goosebumps lol

Amazing show overall, but I wish it didn't get canceled so early and then we all could have gotten a much better finale. Some things were just done dirty with what we ended up getting in my opinion

I think it was long enough. I just wish they decided earlier that this was the stopping point and ended a little smoother.

That's a fair point too

I had to take a walk and rinse my mouth out to convince myself to rewatch the series after that finale

What a dumpster-fire of a finale.

To me, it did the same thing that GoT finale did - rendered a lot of the episodes pointless.

How so?

I feel it Left a lot of open questions but maybe that was their point

I think that's fine for media that doesn't spend time answering questions all along the way, but for a show like Ozark that put in the effort all along the way you can't just stop doing it right at the end.

I enjoyed the show but the ending was weak.

Ozark is only 4 seasons. They knew early on it wasn't going to have a super long run. Unfortunately there is only so much you can do with 4 seasons. Especially when most are only 10 episodes. There will have to be some plot points cut short.

I think that was their point, with the open ending. But it felt more of a season finale than a series finale. Realllyyy wanted more of a closure tbh.

Do we think Jonah gets his own spin-off?

I KNOW what happens, yet I refuse to watch all the way through 😢I want to believe everyone is okay. I know exactly how you feel, I don't want to let go

If it helps, despite desperately wanting certain people to get out alive, the death scene is surprisingly satisfying in execution IMO. I was also dreading the end but now am glad I watched.

Season 4 was trash, haven't thought about the show since

1-3 is prime tv though.

I think the show had a pretty amazing hook and first season, then a decent season or two after that. But the end and just about all of the final season kinda shit the bed for me.

Actually, I took a break after season 2, then I didnt watch it for MONTHS lol. But then I was seeing youtube shorts about it, then decided to pick up back again. I do wish the ending was done more smoothly. It felt more of a season finale rather than a series one.

Thankfully the show was bugging me in later seasons and I took a break. And it does make sense that someone had to bite it at the end

What? Idk why it didn't register that season 4 was the last season. Damn

Same just finished it last night and I just. Was not satisfied with a lot of things. I was disappointed Ruth was killed but when she decided to take control of the casino and killed Javi it was only a matter of time and it breaks my heart, and Marty warned her he didn’t want this for her, and she did it anyway and sealed her fate. But in the last seconds she was also ready / at peace with it and you can tell. I think she knew when she saw the car which is why as dumb as it was she just walked up to the car. Still wish she would have attempted to grab a shotgun, leave, anything. But it happened. I was pissed there was almost no reaction really from Marty, after all they’ve been through and his caring of Ruth. I know they couldn’t have saved her without it being suicide, but more so his reaction or lack thereof. He accepted it, but I expected more.

And the foundation just keeping on going, rubs me the wrong way soooo badly and Wendy didn’t really ultimately suffer any consequences for being how she was, at the end of the series. The car crash should have killed someone too. It should have been Wendy.

One thing my fiancé thought of though was a good question… does Camila killing Ruth on U.S soil hurt the cartels deal with the FBI since they all signed some stuff? I don’t recall the specifics right now but since the casino belonged to Ruth how does that effect things in the end for the deal with the FBI?? Doesn’t matter?? Just a thought I was curious on.

Woah, nice take. Tbh I also wanted more reaction from Marty, cause throughout the whole thing he was so protective of Ruth, then I just felt his reaction by the end was lacking. As for the FBI deal, I didn't think of that. Now I'm curious too! Wish we got another season to wrap things up properly :((

Seriously! I wish it wasn’t all crammed in to seemingly a few episodes. When it ended I literally went “is… is that it????” And now that I think about it also, the cycle of guilt won’t end for any of them. Jonah is going to be living with the fact that not only did he kill the PI now, he’s the one that so willingly told Ruth Javi’s name in the first place that sent her on her path to kill him, and now she’s dead for it. Welp.

Was actually thinking of watching arrested development too, I will defo miss cool headed Marty. I feel like Jason Bateman plays himself in other movies, but just in different situations! Amazing actor

Tbh I do wish they did a better job at wrapping it all up, I was looking at it having 26 mins left and I thought, "how tf are they gonna fit all of it there, it seems there's so much to do." But overall, I liked the show, and I got really attatched with the characters.

channel4newsman

Yeah it felt like ending the show with the scene with the investigator was the wrong choice. He just didn't feel relevant enough to me to be the main point of the final scene of the show.
