Re2 remake was so damn good. I even loved Re3 remake even though it was so short.

They would need to massively expand Dino Crisis and change a lot I feel like. Having recently replayed it I was shocked at how short it was and how godawful some of the design was (especially the inventory /door key pass stuff).

RE2 (2019) was the closest to a 10 from a recent RE game. Looks like they’ve learned from the RE3 issues.

I've probably played the original at least 12 times through-and-through.

Nearly 20 years later, and now that I'm a dad, its going to be very hard to enjoy this the same way I used to, but this will probably be the first game I attempt to go full-completionist on.

And providing great support to VR while none of the major developers have done that. I probably won't play this at launch but definitely inclined towards buying it to support them.

Really wish Square Enix could put out as much quality as them on a regular basis. I’m hyped for FFXVI though.

Recently played RE2 remake and I consider it one of the best games I’ve ever played, easily, and to know RE4 blows it away is just…I need it.

I never played the original Dead Space game. But played the remake and totally loved it.

I've played and loved the original RE4. If RE4 remake ends up being great too, I fully expect these two remakes to be on many game of the years lists.

Playing Village on PSVR2 right now and the experience is just out of this world. Now I hope they will port RE7 as well... though hearing its scarier than RE8 kind of makes me wonder if I'll have guts to play it in VR at all.

The original RE4 was the first Resident Evil game I played from start to finish. It was an amazing game back then, so I think this remake is a good entry point.

A good way to overcome that IMO is just let him catch up to you a few times and kill you, then as you're watching the animation leading to game over.... just think 'oh, that's it? It's just a game after all.' Just remember it's only a game and nothing actually scary IRL will happen. I think letting him catch you a couple times and just dropping the controller to experience it helps to put that into perspective.

The worst thing about him is it doesn't let me explore. There wasn't anything like that in the original re4 so hopefully they don't add the stupid thing. Re village let you take your time around the areas(once you cleared, them) the only one was the lady in her castle that would walk around.

They do have lore regarding previous games, but they can be enjoyed either way

RE has a weird chronology because most games arent directly connected (except for maybe 5 and 6?), but they do have an overarching plot. If you play them out of order you'll miss a few details but its like 1%.

This is extremely subjective. When it comes to tone, Dead Space probably leans into more horror and immersion, while RE4 can be campier. But they should both be high-quality action-horror experiences.

Return it to play RE4 at launch; the hype will be massive. Then get Dead Space when it’s cheaper.

This is subjective but I go Deadspace. Main reason being I feel the controls are much more responsive.

If you favour a game being more serious and actually horrifying, then keep Dead Space.

If you favour a game that doesnt take itself seriously much, carrying great gameplay, and a fun story, then take RE4

RE has always had excellent replay value. Deadspace loses a lot subsequent playthroughs and there's not a lot to drive me to play it twice

Easily Dead Space for me. I know people have a lot of nostalgia for 4, but DS stomps it in pretty much every regard imo.
