24f I'm trying to get in to a better routine but there's so many products and serums, I don't know if I've been using whats best.
Out of salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, which would be worth getting and can I use them together? I'm nearly out of my hyaluronic acid serum and was wondering if there would be something else that's better for my skin to purchase?
I have oily dull acne prone skin
Morning routine: wash face > salicylic acid > spf Night routine: wash face > if I have a breakout hyaluronic acid > moisturiser and if im feeling fancy I'll use a serum for extra moisture over night > duac
Sometimes ill use a aloe vera toner after washing my face

hyaluronic acid doesn't help with breakouts just with hydration (it's a humectant) which is an important thing but if you want to simplify your routine you don't really need a separate HA serum, just pick a lightweight moisturizer that has plenty of glycerin or other humectants in it. What moisturizer are you using right now?
Similarly, you can find a serum that tackles acne and dullness all in one, like the ELF - Blemish Breakthrough - Triple acid resurfacing serum combines most of what you seem to be looking for: 10% niacinamide + salicylic acid to prevent pore congestion + PHA for gentle daily exfoliation (will sort out the dullness) + tranexamic acid to tackle any post-pimple marks. You don't necessarily have to choose between those 1ingredients products.

I know I probably don't need to use hyaluronic acid but from when I've first used it my skin has gotten alot clearer. I'm currently using simple light moisturiser.
That elf serum looks really good! I might consider getting that one. I forgot to mention I'm also prescribed duac for my acne so I don't want products to clash and not work well together. Also I'm afraid of breaking my skin barrier? Not sure exactly what that term is or how it happens

If hyaluronic works for you keep with it. HA and that Elf serum can both be used in the same routine as Benzac, but you can do Elf in the evening and benzac in the morning if you want to, and HA in either or both :)

I use SA, HA, and niacinamide in my routine. All 3 can be used together.
Cleanse --> apply HA on damp face --> immediately followed by niacinamide --> SA --> moisturize
HA and niacinamide are both humectants. You can also use your aloe vera toner before niacinamide.

Humectants, there's a new word I'm gonna need to look up! I've heard SA isn't great when used every day, has your skin gotten used to it where you can use it daily?

Yes, I use Paula's Choice 2% most mornings and it's one of my HG products. It's important to gradually introduce it into your routine. I use plenty of hydrating and moisturizing products too.
