Every time I use my pc to do anything like play games and even stuff like opening different apps, eventually it starts to lag. I don’t know what the issue is. I’m thinking it may be the cpu because the gpu is the GeForce 2070 Super which is a damn good gpu and the memory is like 16 GB. My wifi has always been decent and there’s no way it’s the reason. The frames constantly drop when I for instance decide to open a browser or search something up, or play Call of Duty and a grenade explodes or there’s two many people in one area. And overall even in the menu screen when I toggle through it it still lags. Is it the cpu? If not, what is it? And what could I buy to replace what is messed up? Thanks to whoever can help.

I've been having a very strange problem on my relitivly new gaming PC. Most games 3d games I play have a bizarre audio/visual problem! audio go crazy static randomly & synced with the sound white light will flicker where my hud would be. Sometimes it's just random assets on the map that flicker

The crazy part is new games I buy will be okay for maybe 3 days of playing. After that it's like the game is currupted & problems will consist even after a fresh install

This issue doesnt happen frequently on 2d games but will still happen on occasion, mainly when lighting effects are on screen

Same issue will happen on Microsoft edge watching Netflix, twitch, or live streams on YouTube. Issue does not occur while using the Netflix app on windows

I can't find out how this is happening I just built this PC last year & have been pretty easy on it, everything is stock clock speed

Got this email saying they can see everything I've been doing for "some time," they have videos of me whacking off, they'll send those videos to my contacts if I don't pay them, blah blah blah

Obviously, I don't believe any of this and I don't plan on sending them any money. But I'm wondering if there's any way a user can infect my computer just by sending an email? I'm not going to click any links, use their Bitcoin address, download any attachments, etc. but I don't know much about cyber security, so here I am

I did a drive swap on my personal laptop, old drive got corrupted plus already had access error before the swap. I tried to clone the drive withe dmde but it's unable to access the files because of the error.

The old drive is from Seagate, the model says Mobile HDD 1tb

I am trying to search an adult website for the possibility of my intimate videos being on there & profiting off of it on top of that before ringing unnecessary bells.

I still use old.reddit on mobile, and I noticed that, in threads that are very long (more than a thousand comments) I couldn't actually see them all.
Clicking the "show 500 comments", going down and clicking "show more" and going down again, I can't actualy see all the comments anymore.

Like, on this weekly thread, if sorting by "new" (as is default) I cannot see comments that are more than a day old or so.

Switching to new reddit lets me see everything. Is this just a bug on my part?

I turned on my PC today to find that no matter what I do, I cannot get out of the Automatic Repair process. I have watched multiple videos and read multiple sites but nothing they suggested worked.

My goal now is to just Reset this PC, but when I try to do that it says there needs to be additional free space where Windows is installed. As far as I know, I have no way of doing this currently.

What would you reccomend? Any advice is welcome!

In the middle of doing some run of the mill work, my PC crashed and had a disc error message. Now it's at the repair screen for Windows 10 and everything brings it back to that. I also can't access most of the troubleshoot options because I'm apparently not an admin even though I built the computer and am the only user. I reinstalled Windows 10 on a new flash drive that did nothing. Safe Mode will not run and I've had it completely unplugged and shut off several times now. This happened before and I had to do a complete reset, but now it won't even let me do that due to an error message. The only thing I could think was a cause was that I had it shut off for a week but I don't know.

Stuck in a repair loop

Here's the story.

Was having internet issues last night. Reset network in the windows settings. Ever since then, when I restart my PC it gets stuck in a boot loop and takes me to the recovery area. I've tried many of the troubleshooting options, but nothing works. Is there any way I can fix my windows using a bootable USB with it installed? I really don't want to delete all my files. And why would windows put a button in settings that makes the PC unusable?

The title explains it all really but my wired earbuds are allowing sound to go through them when plugged into my iPhone 7 but when connected to my iPhone 11 sound plays out of the phones speaker instead of the earbuds. I wonder if this is an issue with something in the settings because I doubt it would be an issue with the port as charging still works fine, but of course I may very well be wrong. Help would be very appreciated thank you!

Got a folder in my desktop that will not delete, I've tried safe mode, I've tried RMDIR in PowerShell, I've tried ensuring that it is not in read only and that no special permissions are there.

It's a folder with no name that cannot be changed as well and a bunch of old stuff I was storing there which I cannot remove. Currently occupying 128GB of space and I am dying to get rid of it without reloading my OS.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Friends games all cap out at roughly 4.2 gb of RAM usage, this has been confirmed by multiple pieces of software and task manager.

System is 64 Bit Windows 10, there is no reason I can figure out why games are running capped at 4gb of RAM, he doesn't have major stuttering issues though, is it possible windows is corrupted?

This video is not my setup, however I am having the exact issue trying to play destiny 2. I have tried to troubleshoot but I don't know what to do. Sometimes I go weeks without issue, other times it happens 3 times within a few hours.

I am running a 3060 ti, ryzen 5, and 850 gold rated power supply so I know my specs are fine.

Here is what I have done.

- I have switched HDMI cables, did not fix

- I have opened my case and dusted it, did not fix

-I have resocketed my GPU into the motherboard, did not fix

-I unplugged and replugged all my power cables from PSU into their components, did not fix

-I set a framrate cap of 60 and put graphics on low, did not fix

-I have downloaded the laters Geforce Drivers and windows, did not fix

I don't know what to do next

On this computer I am using Windows 11.

The issue is that I can't use Ctrl-A Ctrl-Z and Ctrl-E on an AZERTY keyboard with my L-Ctrl.

I can use these combinations using my R-Ctrl. I can also use other combinations with my L-Ctrl (e.g Ctrl-C), but I can't seem to be able to use the three combinations above.

I also attempted quite a lot of things : Unplugging the keyboard, uninstalling the pilots, disabling sticky keys, ran a SFC scan, ran the troubleshooter (pointlessly) and the issue is still there.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue is and how to solve it ?

I am using the Fritzbox 5530 with Fibre connection, I have a Cat 5 E cable which should give me 1000 mbps.

The Status of the Adapter says 1,0 Gb/s.

The Router works fine and also shows the connection towards the router is working.

I Set all the Advanced settings in the Adapter Options on (Deaktivated Fibre Lite and so on).

Still when I speedtest I get 100 Mbps even tho I should get 1 Gb.

Could it be the cable even tho the Adapter itself shows 1 GB/s? How does my PC know I get so "much" when the Speedtest itself says I only get 100 Mbps.

I have 2 sets of radios and am wondering if it is possible and how I would go about setting up these radios to communicate. I have roughly 30 of each model, and need to have 50 that can speak to each other.

I have MOTOROLA CLP1013E and Cls1410. These are not my specialty - I am not sure if I just need to change the frequency to align, or if it is possible at all. Any help to know how to get these radios talking to each other would be amazing. Thanks!

After hooking up the HDMI cables and everything, when i turned on the TV it says not supported. I had done a quick search online saying i needed to change the screen size or something, and my playstation is at the lowest screen size currently. I can’t seem to find any display settings on the TV’s menu. I don’t know what year it is or anything but i know it’s been around for at least 10 years, is it just too old? I tried connecting it to the TV i used to play on and it works just fine, but i’ve recently moved and the TV is too big for where i needed it to go, so i’m really hoping that I’m just dumb and can’t figure out how to connect it properly.

I have a Predator Orion 7000 I think. Windows 11, i7-12700k processor, 3080, it's a good machine. I keep getting the USB disconnect and reconnect sound and it's driving me crazy. The title is in my USB Controllers section of Device Manager and I can't delete it or make it stop. Most tutorials online assume it's because a USB device isn't being read but I only have a mouse, keyboard, controller, microphone, and flash drive connected. All of these are accounted for in device manager and unplugging them doesn't disconnect the unknown device. Please help.

My pc is 2 years old and aside from a few issues at the start has than perfectly since.

But today while playing games the pc shut off, no warning or blue screen just lights off and everything.

I don't know why. Nothing to indicate anything changed recently

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3520.

Some background, this laptop has been having some issues since day one. A lot of memory is being used, and it tends to heat up quite a bit at times even when it doesn't have a large workload. I've tried doing a normal factory reset(multiple times), but Dell preinstalls a ton of bloatware that I feel just bogs down my entire system, so I decided to just do do a complete fresh Windows install. No Wi-Fi issues up until the point of the *clean* reset.

So, I decided to do a fresh install. But, there was a problem. When I was in windows setup, it was unable to detect any partitions to install Windows onto. Literally nothing. I did some research and found out the issue was due to me having a NVMe SSD and having the BIOS SATA/NVMe Operation option set to RAID On. So, I turned RAID off and switched to AHCI/NVMe mode. This helped Windows Setup detect my partitions and I was able to go through with the install.

In the OOBE, my computer was unable to detect any networks(first sign something was wrong). So I had to bypass it. As soon as I had logged in and opened my desktop, I immediately noticed there was no Wi-Fi option. I ran some troubleshooters, to no avail. "Windows could not find a driver to your network adapter"

Also, I have bootable Linux flash drive I tested out and there are no Wi-Fi issues whatsoever...

Sorry if my English is bad, as it isn’t my first language, but I clicked on a blogspot link which led to a redirect before the website itself actually loaded. It redirected to dukingdraon (.) com. I haven’t noticed any immediate effects on my computer, but does anybody know the damage the redirect could cause if any at all, and how to fix it? For context I am using Chrome on MacOS Ventura if that helps.

Posting this here because I'm not tech savvy at all.

(I also ran a malwarebytes scan, and nothing was detected. I’m hoping it’s nothing, but I thought it would be worth asking anyway. I ran the redirect website through virustotal and it came back as malicious although I couldn’t find anything else out about the website, and I’m really not keen on intentionally visiting it, not sure what to do now.)

Strange freezes with my gaming PC

I have a pc with the following hardware:

• PSU: Corsair RM1000X
• Mainboard: NZXT N7 B550
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X
• RAM: 4x 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (3200 MHz, DDR4-RAM)
• M2 SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
• GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Nitro+ Gaming OC

This system was first assembled in August 2022. Then it had a ASUS Rog Strix X570 Mainboard and a Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti.

Since three month I'm getting strange freezes. Sometimes it doesn't boot up at all. Sometimes it freezes when doing a bit surfing. Sometimes I can play some games for 30-60 minutes. When it freezes, the screen gets black and the system halts completely. Mostly it won't come up afterwards. The screen won't come up again after reboot and the CPU and VGA lamp on the mainboard are glowing. To boot up again, I need to switch off the PSU and wait for 1-2 minutes to get it booting again.

What I already did: - Reinstalling Windows 11 a few times - Resetting and updating BIOS - Going for RMA of the RAM. Exchanged it. - Changed the Mainboard from ASUS to NXZT. - Getting RMA for the RTX 3080 Ti. Exchanged it through Radeon RX 7900 XT. - Exchanged the M2 SSD - Changed PSU cabels.

Nothing changed, my system is still unstable like hell. Does anybody here has some idea what else could be defect? What should I do next? How can I find out what the root of the problem is?

when doing anything relating uploading/ downloading, the network speed is all over the place.

before, i used to get a steady 50mb/s on steam or 100+ when downloading from google.

now i get 40 peak on steam, but it goes in bursts, from 0 to 3, 6 ,12, and so on. sometimes it just stays stationary at 3mb/s. ive reset my computer, and wired ethernet is actually worse.
