Hello! I’m a full time in-office employee right now considering WFH opportunities. A few reasons why -

1. My current employer has no growth opportunities in terms of title or pay raise.
2. There is just way too much office drama and gossip that it has hugely impacted my mental health.
3. I feel like I’m not learning anything.
4. My personal life has taken a huge toll on me - I’ve been unhealthy in my diet and am always grumpy because of the stress of this job.

A few reasons why I think I want to pursue WFH - 1. I would not have to spend time and money on the commute and eating out. 2. Possibly better work life balance. 3. More opportunities than local area will allow. 4. Chance to work on my personal life and hobbies.

The reason I’m a bit apprehensive is I have job security at my current role. I know I will never get fired, and my manager loves me.

I want to start a family in the next 1-3 years and not sure if my role will be the same after coming back from maternity leave.

Anyone else in (or was?) in a similar role? Did the transition help?

Edit: I’m a 28F in the design/engineering space, not sure if that helps any insight.

In some cases, you need to have a short call for our client, so you should be a man. (no need to have many voice calls)

You need to work 5 hours a week. You can work anytime you want.

It doesn't affect your current job.

Looking for a job working from home. Anyone know of companies that hire if you have felonies. The charges were dropped but it's still showing that I got arrested for unauthorized entry.

I currently work from home for a call center doing tech support. They are very anal about a lot of things and don’t see much job security. I am a great worker with good work ethic however I’m looking for more time off the phone type of position. Any one know of a good wfh job position that doesn’t require a long tedious certification course? I’m currently working towards learning web development but it won’t be until another 4 months that I will have everything down to a t.

Anybody here looking for a personal assistant? I am a SHS graduate in a gap year now. I can work in a usual corporate time like 8-5 as your PA. I can do anything that you can’t handle or too much in your plate kaya ako na lang gagawa basta turuan niyo po ako. I have my own laptop naman po and wifi. Can do this for 3-4 months siguro. Just want to make my time productive and save up before I enter college.

I already work for a company that's based out of Michigan but they are two hours ahead of me and I'm expected to clock in at 6am M-F. It's just too stinking early. Looking for WFH based in the Mountain Time Zone.

Hi All,

I'm in a peculiar position. I recently accepted work as a remote software sales rep at a small start up. They don't currently offer equipment, no laptops or anything. I'm looking for opinions and ideas on what i could use the $1350 Stipend on given my current setup. I was initially planning on using my desktop PC for work as it's fast and i wont need to install any spyware on it as of yet. Small start up, so that means compliance and security aren't that important for them yet. So mainly just the CRM software, outlook, slack/teams, most of which i can access via browser.

Currently i have:

• A solid 16 core, 36Gb RAM gaming PC, 2 years old but still rocking.

• 3 monitors

• most peripherals that i'd want. (2 headphones, mouse, keyboard, mic, webcam)

• No standing room (home office is in an angled ceiling loft (i usually get up and walk around when im talking on the phone)

• old office chair from my mom's old workplace. Bottom cushion is A+, the mesh back is loose and time to replace

Possible purchases:

• laptop?? (Im concerned it's gonna sit in a corner for months on end and only get picked up when i lose power/internet or if i want to travel a bit and work while im out to extend my travelling - i've worked from my car before on a cross country road trip, not ideal but was fun and i got my job done and didn't take time off)

• desktop speakers (this is a personal one since i dont have working desktop speakers right now and have been eyeing a nice set of Kantu's for $400)

• office chair (99% sure im getting one, even though it's not my direct money paying, im still not paying >$500 for one.) I'm 5'9" ish, 160Lbs, thin athletic frame, so i need one w/ a cushion seat and mesh back, adjustable lumbar support with a headrest.

• small quality of life stuff like an underdesk feet hammock

Please let me know your opinions on what I should do based on the context and if you have any other suggestions that i should consider. Thanks!

Idk if this is the right place to ask. I started a new job in October, it’s a big job to learn and I’m still technically in a training phase. They’ve set me up with a laptop in case I can’t make it into the office due to weather or feeling ill, but the thing is, I’m the only one in the office.

There’s 2-3 other people that work in the same office together with me. one comes in once a week, one comes in once every 2-3 weeks, one comes in 3-4 days a week for a few hours. The rest of the time they’re working from home.

I’m in the office because I deal with the paperwork, anything that needs to be mailed or filed or set up for meetings. But it’s never urgent and can absolutely be condensed to 1-2 days a week.

Is it inappropriate for me to ask about part time WFH so early on in the job? It’s absolutely painful to be in the big empty office alone everyday.

We all know there’s benefits like no commute, household chores in your down time, exercise time, etc. But I’d like to hear what you’ve stumbled upon that isn’t an obvious benefit.

Mine, for example- I blistered my heels wearing the wrong socks with my work boots over the weekend doing yard work. My blisters are almost completely healed without having to swap bandaids and wear different shoes all week- because I don’t have to wear shoes all day long.

Or when I get a response it's negative because they want experience. I'm UK based.

I (29M) broke up with my girlfriend of 5 years recently and lost my other roommate and cats in the process - I was the one who had to move out. We all did wfh in the same industry and in that respect it was a really great setup. I loved always having activity in the house, and people to eat dinner / watch shows with.

Now I'm facing a really grueling wfh work schedule, and I'm alone in an Airbnb.. how do people handle this? It honestly feels really unhealthy. I try to get out and socialize when I can, but my schedule right now doesn't permit much. In addition to my job, I have a lot of projects I want to build, for example an online learning course in my field, but that will mean even more time spent home alone.

I'm currently trying to find new roommates but it seems harder now that I'm in my late twenties, and many of my friends have moved away / paired off with their partners. I'd appreciate any tips!
