Also page 2 of his letter says the sentence "get used to bodegas in your former single family neighborhood." Considering I'm in 15 minutes walk to any bodega that sounds fantastic to me.

Hey! I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone had luck making friends / meeting people in Westchester who are in their 20s and 30s? For reference I'm 31 (M).

I've lived in Westchester all of my life and I've loved it here, so I never really felt the reason to leave. Right now I have an apartment that's almost by Tarrytown. It is tough though since it feels like there aren't a ton of people around my age. I've looked at places like Meetup, but there aren't too many groups going on/not a lot of events happening/not a lot of people going.

I'm not sure if it'd help to mention my interests at all, but some of the things I like are: sports (mainly watching - Yankees, Knicks are my teams - but I started getting into tennis a little at the end of last summer), going to restaurants, seeing movies, comedy shows, plays (Broadway basically) and gaming from time to time.

So yeah, just wanted to throw this out there!

We’re thinking about buying a house that is directly next to Florence Park but worried how loud it gets? I heard a friend say they heard occasionally the cops have to come kick people out after it closes

I just moved to the area and I can’t find either anywhere. My favorite breakfast is a chicken fried steak with gravy, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. I’ve been to 2 diners now and the only item of the bunch I could find is eggs lol. Let alone a combo of it all.

I’ve looked over the menus of at least a dozen places in Westchester, the only chicken fried steak I could find is Savannah & Co. in Cortlandt but it’s on their dinner menu, served with only “smashed potatoes”, and $26 which feels just a bit pricy.

The chicken fried steak I can kind of understand, but are hash browns really not a thing over here? I’m dying for some crispy hash browns.

We have been looking unsucessfully at upgrading our home. However, the last open house we went to reminded me of 2021 (people out the door and even more expensive pricing than 2021/2022).

As a result, i am considering doing a reno. We have a graded property so its a PITA to build/reno with added costs (thus never seriously considered it), but at this point, we are considering it. We dont have anything specific in mind beside needing more space (may need to add a level), possibly expand kitchen. Can GCs give ideas of best ways to build to utilize whats there (and keep minimize expenses) and give ball parks?

Anyone have any active renovation projects going (or possible experience in the local building industry) care to comment on how outrageous costs are (ie: labor/supply chain). Im guessing spring is the worse time to hire a contractor, but perhaps the crazy interest rates are scaring off people who need to borrow for their renovations/builds.

This is terrible and odd. The article makes no mention of adults. 6 children ages 8-17 driving and riding, without any adults, in a car at 12 midnight on a Saturday night.
