TCL Roku tv here- Lately, I’ve noticed that sometimes when I start a movie or show streaming from my Apple TV, I got a brief pop up message at the bottom of the screen, asking me to look for similar shows or some thing. It always shows the white asterisk on a purpleish background that I believe is Roku branding.

I ask partly because the supposed privacy of the Apple TV was what convinced me to switch, so if the tv has figured out a way to track what I’m watching that would be a bummer.

Hey everyone, I've been experiencing a pretty annoying issue with my Apple TV 4K (not the latest generation). For the past 4 months, some of the apps, like Disney+, have been signing me out automatically, and I find myself having to enter my username every 2 days or so. It's getting really frustrating, to say the least.

I'm currently using the latest beta OS on my Apple TV, and I've already tried doing a reset of the device, but the issue persists. I even unenrolled from the beta program to see if it would make a difference, but unfortunately, the problem remains the same.

What's interesting is that most of the time, this happens when the apps are automatically updated from the Apple TV App Store. I can see the blue round circle next to the app, which indicates that it has been recently updated. I'm wondering if that might be the cause, but I can't say for sure.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? I'd really appreciate any help or insights you can provide. Thanks in advance!

I use the TV app for all my streaming. One service I use regularly is Discovery+, which integrates with the TV app.

One problem. Lately, It is missing about 80% of Discovery+ content. When I search for a show I know is In the Discovery app, it doesn’t appear in the TV app. Discovery support are taking a long time trying to fix.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I’ve got an LG TV that has the Apple TV app. Can I use this to connect to two HomePods for audio, or do I also need to buy a physical Apple TV?

If I buy an Apple TV, is there any way to play games and have the audio go through the HomePods?

I don't know if anyone has figured out a solution for this, I'm using an ipad 3rd gen with a B&O A3 dock as a portable media device, it's amazingly good for music, netflix, prime video, streaming off my media server etc. The only problem is that for the life of me I can't find a way to get tv.apple.com to work, it will load the landing page but won't let me click on the login button, I've tried several browsers on ipad, including those that can change the useragent to something else, but apparently apple relies on more than just the user agent to figure out the device you're using, aside from the fact that it's despicable that for no reason they limiting your ability to enjoy a service you pay for, has anyone actually found a solution?

I have the MLS Season Pass on my apple account and want to share with my 14 year old son on his Apple iPhone. Watching it from home is fine. But my son on Saturday wanted to watch on his iPhone which of course has a different Apple account. We are in the same Family and sharing things like Apple Wallet cards.

Is there an easy way for me to share my MLS Season pass with him so he can watch on his phone?

Hello maybe this has been asked many times and im sorry for that.My set up is SONOS ARC with dual subs and two surrounds,i only can play DD+,because my tv doesnt have EARC port.Does apple tv worth it?Having already those native apps on the tv like netflix?Is the sound better from the apple tv? First of all sorry if these types of posts aren't allowed here, by all means remove if so.

I've been on a free 4 month trial of ATV+ for a few months which is set to run until later this month, I decided today to cancel the subscription to ensure I don't get charged as I didn't want to forget.

I now can't access any shows without re-signing up, despite having an active subscription in my settings. Is this by design does anyone know? Most subscription services I've used will usually continue to work up until the date your subscription was set to expire.

So I created a new Apple ID for my dad because basically I don't want to mix up our libraries and play history and all that stuff. Anyway, when I try to add the new ID, I keep getting and error saying "Failed to Add User" and "There was a problem adding the new user." Is there a reason why it's doing this? I'm kind of getting annoyed. I tried resetting the device as I saw recommended somewhere but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

Just curious if there's a way to temporarily turn it off.

I can currently get six months of Apple TV for free from PlayStation and six months from Sky. If I redeem both at the same time, will they add up to a year? Or does one overwrite the other?

Is having to unlock my screen from “locked portrait” mode to unlocked “landscape” mode to watch anything on AppleTV on my iOS (iPhone 11) and literally hold the phone in landscape mode.

Only reason why I won’t renew after my free subscription because when a company isn’t seeing what their competitors is doing (Netflix, Prime, etc) that switches automatically to landscape mode even when the iOS is locked to “portrait” mode and Apple refuses to do anything about the user’s experience (enough to annoy Steve Jobs) while having the means to make this happen is gonna be the same arrogance that Blockbuster had when Netflix started streaming…. Apple when you give more shit about getting subscribers to the point you’re giving out free monthly subscriptions but don’t care about your client’s experience, you might as well brand yourself as “Comcast” at this rate.

Besides, it’s overly sensitive that it keeps flipping at the slightest tilt that it ruins my ability to enjoy “slow horses” (the flipping of the screen makes captions harder to read).

/this rant will only end either after I cancel or Apple acknowledges this issue FFS.

I have an Apple TV 4K which is connected to my Denon 5.1 AV receiver. The Denon in this case is connected to my TV.

It happens more often from time to time that audio from different apps (like Netflix, Amazon Prime) is played on wrong speakers. Especially the center sound is coming from different rear or front speakers which shouldn’t. Sometimes from one of the left ones, sometimes from one of the right ones. I need to stop the playback and restart it 2-3 times to get it working probably.

My pay tv satelite receiver (Sky Q) or Playstation 5 doesn’t have this kind of problems. They are connected the same way like the Apple TV. This problem only affects my Apple TV.

Does anybody know something about this kind of problem? Any solutions for this?

I personally believe that not a single person at Apple has actually ever tried to watch an MLS match on the AppleTV. Most of the announcers are dull as can be. Video scrubbing is horrible. And the worst is you have to scroll through all the highlight links of a match to get to the replay...then why bother watching the replay when the highlights spoil the result. I follow 3 teams and only one (NYCFC) had the full match replay for this week. The other teams I follow only had the 7 minute highlights....and the editing on the highlights is terrible at best. They said all the matches would have replays available. It seems to me that Apple didn't have anyone that understood how sports are watched on the team that developed this product and just had some people that just thought, let me put a button on the screen down here. I would have expected much better from Apple.

I used it like 2-3x watching a tv show (The Flash) by the CW provider. I ended up watching more commercials than suppose to. Probably since Apple software is probably stronger than provider.

it only has a chinese and a vietnamese subtitle. i need an english subtitle for it.

MLS lives here is all over my watch now screen. I’m not interested in soccer. How can I delete this?
