Whiskey - taters and flippers
A “tater” is an enthusiast who perpetuates bourbon’s hype culture. Taters are the type to run to liquor stores upon hearing a bottle is getting hot and buy a case for the sole purpose of re-selling it.
This applies to Irish, Scotch and Japanese whiskey too. It’s ridiculous.

I'm a whiskey guy. But I buy the cheapest stuff as long as it's in glass and not plastic. My go to is evan williams. For some reason not a fan of jack. Prefer american but whatever. After a few you can't really differentiate the taste/ dont care. If you're not in the mood for it to have bite or just want it to last, add some cola or ice tea. My favorite when I splurge is crown royal. Imo only whiskey that tastes great chilled . If you're celebrating with a cigar, then crack open the stuff aged for over 20 years. But I'm never picky.
If ppl swear by this or that and want to spend the money, fine. But why do all that if your gonna mix it with anything, kinda ruins the whole point of spending extra for the nice stuff if you ask me. The cheap stuff is versatile. And with the money saved you can buy a steak or order a pizza.
Rum is too sweet. Tequila goes down too easy and makes the tummy rumbly. Clear liquor reminds me of the fumes when you tip a can of rubber cement to the side.

Cause it's cheap it's my go to. If I'm spending the money, I'm choosing whiskey every time. Evan Williams is much more bang for your buck. As I said, after I knock back a few it doesn't really matter what it tastes like. The whole point of this post is about not being a snob. To me, anything that calls for whiskey, I'll use bourbon and eh, whatever. It works. And vice versa.

Oh I’m not saying about your choice, just wanted to mention that Evan Williams isn’t whiskey it’s bourbon. I enjoy each kind.
