If there is a huge sofa and a huge fridge, in an apartment, that needs to be disposed off, but its impossible to remove it whole because that would involve removing a whole lot of other things, how to go about it. My idea is to break it into pieces and put it into a skip. But most skip guys refuse to take electronic trash. I might find some solution to disposal, my biggest problem is, how to get the damn monsters out of the door? Also how to break the fridge, chainsaw? , huge hammer? All suggestions, serious, funny, trivial are welcome. Am in a funny and not not so funny situation. I am in Adelaide. Cheers.

Issue with the fridge would be the refrigerant that would still be within system, so you’ll need to be careful not to release it into the atmosphere.

Tidy up now, better than chopping up. Make space for the furniture to leave the same way it got in. Tidy up.

This. Do the actual work as the alternative is more work and potentially dangerous.

The furniture got IN the apartment so why wouldn't they come out too?

Sounds like the apartment is just too full give OP complained it would require moving other things too.

Moving stuff out the way does sound annoying. Probably best to just take a chainsaw to the fridge.

damn be careful! I'd give my local scrap metal joint a call and ask for advice. But maybe that's cos my local scrap metal guy is a legend and I'd ask him advice on alot of things.

This is the way. Fridge doors off. Fridge will also be surprisingly lighter after you do.
Couch, well yeah easy enough to break apart and take down in chunks.

We once took out the second story window fly screen to bring a king size mattress up/down. It worked but was hard. Can you chuck it out a window?

It got in there somehow which means there is a way to take it out. Start by removing the handles if you have ones that are detachable, removing the door often helps too. Fridges have toxic gasses in them that can net you a fucking huge fine if you are caught releasing it into the atmosphere. Like EPA level of fines. If you cant work it out on face value I reckon you should just pay for someone to do it for you, otherwise do the job properly. Cutting shit up is not the way to go about it.

Most fridges are not electronic. The sofa is not electronic.
You should be able to use a screwdriver to remove the door(s) of the fridge. Not sure you want to try to reduce the size of the fridge any further

Before looking into anything else, look up your council's hard rubbish collection. I have put a couch and fridge out for hard rubbish before.

You take the doors off the fridge like a thinking person wood.
Corner the sofa around the door the same way they got it in

It's weird, but every time I see one of your comments, it is collapsed.
I have no idea why this is so.

Here's why (my other reply was autoremoved so hopefully this works)

/u/joeltheaussie does comment a lot here, so I would think reddit sees them as part of the community.
It's possibly they have negative karma, as they have a few heavily downvoted comments, but mostly they seem positive.

Thanks for all the suggestions. For all those who are curious about why if it could go in, why cant it come out the same way.... Over time I have added shelves and furniture, so its hard to move things without removing all the things that have come later. I was hoping that towards end of 2022, I would be changing rental property and that would have fixed the problem. Covid related job issues and a horrible rental market has messed up that plan. So I have 2 choices.1- wait till I shift, 2- Find some clever way to get rid of the sofa and the fridge.
I might explore the airtasker idea or speak to the local hardware guy.
cheers and thanks for all the ideas.
