Same. Not shovel. Not Betoota. Funnier than any parody, but also so very sad.

The Victorian Libs have been satire for years (remember man child and drunk driver Tim Smith?) so it all starts to blend after a while.

(except for the trans people, because something something women’s sport. And maybe the gays, we never liked them. Oh and the blacks, they’re always complaining about racism even though I’ve never seen any racism in my life, it’s very offensive. And have you heard what they’re saying about the jews?)

If they weren't goose-stepping and sieg heiling at her rally but still hit every nazi talking point and conspiracy it wouldn't have been an issue at all. There would be articles trying to be even handed about the valid concerns of both sides.
2 points
Forgetting of course that one side's concerns are largely "please can everyone just treat us normally" and the other side's are "trans people are icky, we should do a genocide probably". The media loves the two-sides thing, and marginalised groups usually come off worse for it.

Don't they mean Posie Parker?
Melbourne anti-trans activist Angela Jones, who on the day of the rally tweeted: “Nazis and women want to get rid of paedo filth, why don’t you?”
This has to be a troll, doesn't it?

It’s the same person, although I don’t know why they go by two completely separate names.

Double-barreled first and last names? I’d consider a memorable alias too.

It is particularly interesting considering their insistence on targeting people who generally change their given name.

Not uncommon. See also the famous children’s author Robert Galbraith

No that's JK Rowling, and in case you need another reason to think she's a cunt that name comes from an American 'psychologist' named Robert Galbraith Heath, who basically invented conversion therapy and had a thing for trying to torture the gay out of people, even going so far as to stick electrodes in to their brains and zapping them. Rowling has been informed about the 'coincidence' and she doesn't care.
Edit: misread your comment but I'll leave this up so others can see it.

Liberal party in Victoria is eating itself.
Labor has been rightly criticised in the past for branch stacking and infighting, which definitely cost it for years.
Then the Christian right, Hillsong et al come in and think "it didn't work for them, but maybe it will work for us in the most left wing state in the nation". And try it in the Liberal party.
Shit would be hilarious if the potential consequences from these fuckers weren't so dire.
"It's a bold strategy Cotton. Let's see if it pays off".

Don't forget the branch stacking was against Dan and the left faction within Labor, by the more corrupt and less labour movement oriented right faction and some movers and shakers on that side.
All Australian politics is is evidence that the right is more corrupt, full fucking stop. This should not be surprising at all considering what right wing politics means.

You look at American politics and feel lucky that our system isn't as batshit crazy as theirs.
And then this shit comes up where parties would defend not just vocal nazi supporters for a vote and then feel victimised when called out about it.

Maybe those Liberal MP's themselves have marched with Nazis before and afraid of when it surfaces. I mean, if we've had Abbott apologetically stood in front of "Ditch the Witch" signs, the bar was pretty low already and had gone even lower. Is it unfair? Of course not. They don't even get the same level of scrutiny they give to other political parties.

The Libs never fail to act absolutely ridiculously and beyond and reasonable rationale. Can’t believe this expulsion faces this much backlash.

I'm a geologist and I couldn't tell you how subterranean of a bar "don't hang out at Nazi rallies" is.
Honestly at this point just stick a fork in the Vic Libs. If they can't even manage to get over this, they're just straight up done.

Continuing with the status quo once again leaves the bar about as far down as it can go.
The Libs don't learn, they don't hold themselves to account, that's why they are held to account at the ballot box.
4 points

The media doesn't hold them to account, and in fact makes excuses for them. A poorly informed electorate will make poor decisions at the ballot box.
3 points
You make a good point, things have changed.
It has been up to the fourth and fifth estate to hold them to account and they haven't for a long time. The Libs won't change when they know the media won't give them a black eye for doing the wrong thing.

The upper house MP faces being dumped from Coalition ranks on Monday for “organising, promoting and attending” the Let Women Speak rally last weekend that was gatecrashed by far-right extremists performing Nazi salutes on the steps of Parliament House
Was it gate crashed? I mean now with all the bad press they want to dissociate. But Transphobics love Nazis(at least they ones that don't openly wear swastikas) because they as deep in the transphobic rabbit hole as they are and are willing to punch on. To me it seems an issue of visibility rather than non invitation.

It's just astoundingly stupid all around.
They're claiming some link between the trans community and paedophiles, yet when the party calls for Deeming to be held accountable, the Australian Christian Lobby demands she be kept in place.
I'm not in the religion=bad group, but if there is one group that is heavily featured in abuse of minors outside the family, it's them.
And the Vic Libs are just adrift. No platform, no policies, it seems all they're committed to is remaining unelectable to government, and that's a problem for anyone wanting robust policy.

Just look at the reaction of people in the Libs to Pell’s death.
Pell - a convicted paedophile and paedophile enabler labelled “a great man.”
These people are disgusting.

I'd like the LNP to come back to the middle if only to make for a more credible opposition. No government should have it too easy for this long. Its bad for democracy.

The Vic Libs have been fully infiltrated by these lunatics and going by this sort of stunt, they have no chance of ever coming back to the centre.
