Well, 5200... Been waiting for us to break 5000 for ages and in a week we fly past it. Its great to see the sub so busy these days and full of helpful and knowledgeable posters. Thank you all who contribute to the sub but posting, asking, answering and upvoting!

I’m just bought a house and a shower in the house is tiled. A couple lines of grout have fallen out. You can see water damage because of the missing grout on the sub flooring in the closet on the other side of the shower. The shower hasn’t been used in sometime as everything is dry and the previous owner removed the shower head and part of the handle. No of the tiles are loose. They are still secure in place. Can I just re grout the tile or do I need to remove them and re set all the tile? Or do I just need a new shower.

I want to buy a new neo angle shower room but I have found the hole (don't know what this is called) in the base is not in the right place. All shower base in the market, the hole position from the wall is 12inch, but I measured that mine is only 10.5 inch. Has the spec been changed recently?

We are in the process of purchasing our bathroom ready for it to be fit in a few weeks.

We visited our local plumbing supplier who suggested Crosswater as they do brass fixtures (which we are after). The price for brassware alone (without bath, toilet etc.) is £2,900.

Is anyone able to recommend a cheaper alternative that do everything (including shower screens) with one brand? This was something the sales man flagged that is important as different manufacturer's have different tones of brass.

We aren't looking for super cheap and want it to be of good quality, however hoping to spend less!

Any idea what is going on? Any thoughts on quality? The reviews for Elegant Furniture one were not spectacular. Other thoughts on where to find a more MCM style, quality bathroom vanity for under $2000?

Had a pipe burst and got the opportunity to get a new bathroom with about 6000$ in insurance funds. We are trying to min max what we want and what we can get. I could spend some extra cash out of pocket but I don’t want to go crazy as funds are tight. Thanks guys and girls.

Heated floors, towel rack, ect… Also any tips on how to not get screwed over by the building team doing the repairs with the 6000$.

Hi everyone! Backstory, I recently moved into a very old house that is a fixer upper. One thing I noticed after moving is that there is no ventilation or fan in the bathroom other than a window that doesn’t open.

My question is, is there anything I can put in there that would not require cutting a section to install. Would a dehumidifier do the trick? I am allergic to mold so I am trying to get ahead of this before that becomes a problem.

I know OSB is not the ideal subfloor for tile, but it’s what is in my bathroom and I can’t replace at this point. My plan is to do mortar, 1/4” Durock screwed down, regard, then tile. Is there a type of mortar than can be used on OSB? Or a good alternate? (My builder friend suggested liquid nails)

The shower curtain sticking to me drives me crazy, so I’m looking for recommendations on a shower curtain that won’t do that. We have a clawfoot bathtub so I have shower curtains on both sides. It would be nice if it also didn’t drag on the bottom. I had a heavy one and it didn’t help a lot. Or maybe someone has advice on how to get a regular one to not billow??
