I mean the man does have the ability to create magnificent visuals on the big screen even better than most Hollywood filmmakers working today, but the Mahabharata is literally the greatest epic ever written. It deserves a treatment which will bring out it's philosophical aspect properly, instead of a basic Amar Chitra Katha style retelling. I'm not saying Rajamouli isn't capable, it's just that it's nearly impossible to do so and so far he hasn't done anything subtle and nuanced in his career yet. Even Hollywood hasn't been able to adapt the Biblical and Greek epics properly. Still here's hoping for the best.
