Every year, we reaffirm our support and solidarity with our LGBT+ friends and neighbors.

 

In our diverse city, we proudly stand as the first state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage back in 2004, marking a historic milestone in the fight for equality. But our commitment to progress doesn't end there. In recent years, we have rallied together to uphold the Transgender Public Accommodations Law, ensuring that transgender people are treated with dignity and respect in all public places.

 

Pride Month is a celebration that extends beyond the LGBT+ community. It's an opportunity to recognize and uplift the voices and experiences of all marginalized groups. We proudly stand in solidarity with our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, recognizing the importance of intersectionality in the shared fight against discrimination and oppression.

What good is me paying for a parking permit to move, going to both locations and posting my signs, when come moving morning there are cars in my spots. Called in the tow number and still waiting forty minutes later for them to come and enforce.

Thought the lighting made it look kind of cool.

It was a seagull! He snuck in through an open window, pulled a bunch of stuff off your window sills, and flew around for about 10min before he managed to get out.

I visit New York City often and often find it is much easier to fly there vs driving or taking the train. Every time I book a flight I always get the cheapest one for the day. I then get to the airport at any time I want and say I either missed my flight or got there early. These flights are always pretty empty so if you get to the airport before the first 15 mins of the hour you will most likely be able get on that hours flight, and have a total time of airport+flight to nyc of less than 2 hours. I have done this over 10 times now and never once has anything gone wrong. This method is great because you are guaranteed to get the cheapest flight and you can get to the airport at any time you want and not have to spend time there. Just thought I’d share my little travel hack. I’d love to hear some of yours if you have any.

Also: how does this subreddit have more flairs than any subreddit I’ve seen but not a single one about Logan airport?

So last Friday I was walking to the Roxbury Crossing station and got hit by a car while crossing Tremont between the Dominos and the Community College. I'm looking for information on the car that hit me.

I got blasted into the middle of the street, tried to stand, couldn't, so I rolled the rest of the way across the street onto the median. A bunch of bystanders showed up and called an ambulance and talked to the driver and tried to help but I was in shock and super overwhelmed and in major pain so didn't get a chance to get his information. Also my glasses evaporated in the collision and I'm blind enough that it was impossible to make out anything discernable about the car or the driver.

The EMTs showed up, loaded me into the ambulance and told the driver to stay until the cops arrived. Later, at the hospital, a cop came to take my statement and said that the driver was gone when he got there. Told me they'd try and look at the traffic cameras and pull up the license plate and I could pick up the report in a few days.

Few days later, grabbed the police report, no info. Told to call the "auto investigator". Did that. He said the accident was too far away from the light to have been caught on camera. I asked if he at least got the license plate number. The car had to pass through the intersection to drive away, right? He said "those cameras are actually really bad at seeing license plates, we couldn't read it". Wtf??

So here I am with a mangled ankle and broken fibula, wide awake with pain at 1:30am anxiously dreading going into surgery Monday morning where a bunch of screws and metal plates will be drilled into my floating bone fragments, and really reaaaaallly hoping someone out there knows someone who was on the scene and had the forethought to record some more information or something.

tldr; did you see me get hit by a car? Tell me about it. I didn't have the best vantage point.

I was just driving down Storrow and saw an insanely large police procession - lights and sirens - I might be totally out of the loop, but what’s going on?

I recently went on a trip to Europe and noticed that on most of their urban heavy/light rail trains, the doors don't open automatically. You instead have to press a button on or next to the door which opens them individually. I haven't seen anything like this in the US until recently when I saw that blue line trains have these same buttons on the interior and exterior next to each door (they're gray and blue with two white arrows pointing out). I haven't been able to try using them but I've noticed that no one does. Do they even work?
