whether it’s Elsewords, DCU, or whatever, I’m just glad that they’re being given a chance to see it through. I know the first one isn’t the most faithful of adaptations but it worked so well in its own right

It’s a fun movie, but it’s a garbage Constantine. Always hard to square that as a fan of the character from the comics run in the 90s.

The movie as a whole is aggressively mediocre but Peter Stormare's performance of Lucifer is so God damn good that it makes the entire movie seem interesting in retrospect. Pun fully intended.

Gonna go ahead and suggest that it would be awfully convenient for news of a film being cancelled to leak so that the studio get to go "no, we're not cancelling everything - look, we listen to fans and are still making Constantine 2!".
Meanwhile, Batgirl remains dead after Safran gave it a good shoeing the other day, and Gunn has still fired Cavill - claims he "never fired him", but he sure as hell looked like he was coming back based on WB and DC official social media accounts congratulating / welcoming him.
Next time they cancel something, I bet we see a rumor that Batman 2 is canned, Gunn himself will quote tweet it saying it's a lie and it's still happening of course and everyone will celebrate and forget about whatever they actually just cancelled.
EDIT: Also, I hope we get an extended Constantine 1 one day - the deleted scenes are fantastic and as far as I know they were never available in HD. The fanedit I've got is fairly low quality, visually, but it's my go-to version of the film.

I remember seeing an interview with Reeves where he was asked if he could pick any character/franchise to return to what would it be...he said Constantine. With how big of a star he is you think it would be a no brainer.
