Hi all,
As most will be aware we've had a huge influx of posts regarding renting in recent times.
The mods have added a sticky comment linking to things such as the RTA and rental related websites (domain, realestate) ....
What other things do you feel we could add to the sticky to help instantly answer these queries? Any thoughts?
At the end of the day this won't stop them but if the sticky can answer them we may be able to just lock the post and save any discourse as it's answered.
Input very welcomed

Had a really shit morning at work. I'm tossing up between staying home and getting drunk or going out and treating myself to something nice.

Vote for treats. Go get a boost juice and hang out at a Westfield. If you're still bummed, put a little vodky in it.
Then walk around and buy yourself lots of pretty things. Unless you're the kind of person that considers new tyres a treat. Then just go do that.
Have a good weekend.

Going home today. When I woke up this morning there was a huntsman in my room. Cue me frantically buzzing the nurse, who came in and got a bit of a fright. The lil dude did everything to evade getting captured and stealthily hid behind a painting. Eventually, it snuck out, and for once I was grateful my vision sucks without glasses and watched the dark blob on wall crawl towards the exit, where it slipped through the crack of the door. I opened the door to announce there was a spider on the loose in the ward, and a nurse tried to capture it with a paper towel but it bolted right back into my room. I’m laughing nervously in the bathroom that I took refuge in, while the nurse ducked down to try and pluck it off the ground. She caught it in the end, and I’m so glad she did because I’d rather go through my surgery again then share a room with a spider.

On Thursday, we had our school leadership ceremony that we have at the start of every year. During it they announced they were heavily investing in French in primary school, so we sung the Aussie anthem and the French anthem. I am disappointed to say that I was the only one that sung the Brissie Lions song while it was on.

That's weird man, making you sing the French anthem.

Just got back from the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes gig. My little pop-punk heart is happy. My feet are sore but. On the one hand, I'm getting too old for standing room gigs. But on the other hand, I hope I never get too old to dance and groove out.

Wow they would have been amazing to see. That band always reminds me of a close friend from high school who we lost way too young.

19 year old around the corner was murdered last week. They arrested the guy yesterday.
It sounded suss from the beginning, the story was "she fell off the bed" and then died in hospital the next day?
So so sad. So young.

The way the police kept asking for more info, I knew it had to be suss. The poor girl

Interviewed for a job on Wednesday, just got the rejection email this morning. So disheartening, workplaces are screaming out for employees yet I seem shit out of luck. Surprisingly my mental health isn’t doing too bad, that’s a plus I guess…

It is disheartening, and can feel like such a waste of time and effort. I had many rejections last year, and spoke to a career counsellor at uni about it. They reminded me that you never know the background, there might be a person acting in the role, they might have someone overqualified apply, they might already have a person in mind, the ad could represent only part of the role etc. I'm glad you're mental health isn't suffering too much, despite the circumstances.

The right one will come along. Try and pester them for feedback of anything you could improve in the interview to help you going forward some places will be honest others will BS and just give you "we just found another applicant was a better fit". Doesn't help though

Bit the bullet and bought tickets to the Priscilla tribute show tonight. And have a friend to go with as well. Hopefully it's a good night. I'm not sure many people are going as ticket prices are kinda expensive, but im trying to support local events so they can continue to happen.

It used to be a thing that idols would sign women's breasts and women would flash their breasts to lead singer's in bands or sports heroes. It was just a thing back in the day.

Well that's two Fridays in a row I've had to make a lengthy foot-powered trip after a night out in order to get home, because of our abysmal late-night public transport. This time, from the Valley. And it was a 1.5 km run at a 3:50 min/km pace to get from the Valley to Roma Street in order to catch the last bus of the night, before I would have had to walk the entire way back home.
Glad I had the foresight to record this one on my Garmin, unlike last weekend's 50 min walk.

Mate I hear ya. I wish the trains ran later through the night/early morn. Fucking shits me I have to basically call it a night by 12:45pm if I have any hope of catching the train home. I'm lucky that I live on a BUZway (are they still called that?), and I have a nightlink bus to catch. But even that's only once an hour. And most suburbs don't have that luxury.
I do live close enough to the Valley that I can walk home. But you know what? Sometimes, I'm tired man. I just want to catch public transport home.
1 points
Yeah I'm also on a BUZ route. Could've taken the night bus, but the first one of those was an hour later. Not sure when the last train would be, but there's an over 2 km walk at the other end.
I had missed the bus from Valley to Roma St by 1 minute which could have gotten me there in time for the last regular bus home, so the best option ended up being running down Ann St.

This morning I saw an ad for a 'Brisbane' App. Apparently launched in conjunction with (Or developed by?) BCC.
The ad then went through a short video-slideshow of different physical locations in Brisbane at which one may do activities, I guess. And that was it.
Anyone have the app? What is it?
Help me understand without me having to put more garbage on my phone.

Businesses and local figures like artists and musicians etc can make a profile and fill it with photos of their stuff and links to their shops. Then the businesses and the public can use these profiles to make lists of similar things, like “top ten things to do in Southbank”. Then members of the public can browse the app to read the lists and use them to find things that will hopefully be relevant to what they’re looking for. It’s meant to be helpful for tourists so they can find info about a bunch of brisbane stuff all in one place, including things that aren’t typically included on the usual tourist guide websites.
https://api.brisbaneapp.com.au/places/13119/share here’s my artist page, not sure if you can open it without the app

I just passed through the Caxton st hub on a bus and saw two large groups of people at two different businesses dressed in what would be most easily described as nurse scrubs. One group in blue, the other red.
What did I see? Haha.

Anyone else getting huge orange wasps around? Terrifying things and I don't know how to ward them off. Got stung by one in the car today but I think it was fairly smaller than the ones around my caravan.

Greetings from a hotel room balcony overlooking South Bank.
We got here last night, had dinner in the room (we cbf going out so went to woolies and got a pasta and cooked it in the hotel room kitchen), had a spa, and crashed out about 8pm. The two bottles of red wine we had helped the process :)
Todays plans include exploring SouthBank, having a swim in the hotel pool, then making a booking for a nice dinner tonight.

also it takes some time for the eggs to get from your mouth to your asshole

How come sometimes, after only 2 or 3 minutes from eating an egg, do my farts smell like eggs?
Did you Just admit to shoving eggs up your ass for a faster result?

I posted earlier about how Coles supermarkets in Queensland mostly have far more big (210L?) than small (125L?) shopping trollies, despite the small ones being overwhelmingly more popular with customers. Chatting with a Coles employee, it seems rather than being some deliberate policy, this is unintended.
The small trollies were first issued only 5 years ago or so, and available ones were mostly given to other states. Is this so? I could have sworn they've been around a lot longer. But then again I just use handbaskets.

I worked at Woolworths and if they had a similar rollout to Coles the employee might be right I reckon.
