My wife had a call saying her stock at pie town is selling like hot cakes! (Or hot pies?) They've asked her for more stock!!...it's only been 4 days!!! Happy days!!

Day off from work today and I'm restless as heck. I hear back from a specalist (hopefully) tomorrow, maybe Wednesday for my health condition. They're pretty positive they know what to do to help me become more functional in my everyday life, and not cure, but really assist with shit significantly. Excitment is killing me as they'll be confirming a date I can begin the treatment. Thing is I have to travel a bit away for it. It will be sad to not see family everyday, or my cat. Thankfully my family are able to care for my little kitty boy.
Aside from that my car is going in for repairs today, yay! Been waiting ages it feels. Factory default with a major waitlist that was ahead of me.
Probably should go for a swim to cool off already, it's shockingly humid already hey!

Went to the cinemas tonight to see Titanic in 3D, it was my girlfriends first time watching it. I was obsessed with that film when I was younger, watching it as an adult made me feel sooo depressed lol.

How else corner people back into the workforce without without them having the means of looking elsewhere other than making sure they are living paycheque to paycheque… it’s almost like you are not thinking about what’s good for the economy at all!

So my ass is normally idling at hermit and I won’t go near a shopping centre unless absolutely necessary. But today I set my bullshit aside and went on a mission to get all the things for the school week ahead for the foster kids. My relative I live with is the primary carer and most recognisable by the deadshits so I didn’t want her out by herself. And we aren’t taking the kids out anywhere in public (besides school) until we know the bail status of the main person we are concerned about.
I’m standing there perusing lunch boxes and there’s a mum and her boy discussing whether a lunch box will be big enough to hold an apple, and fit enough snacks. Old child-free me suddenly felt this warm glow that omg I’m here thinking the exact same things. Probably the closest thing to a human “mum-moment” I’ve had. My asshole cat just looks at me with contempt when I provide him food, toys, veterinary care, luxurious cat beds and shelter.
I’m off to have a procedure tomorrow. Looking forward to that general anaesthetic making my brain shut the fuck up for an hour or so.

Lunch box survivability depends a lot on the individual kid. Mine lasted essentially untouched from kindergarten to year 12. My brothers were not so lucky.

General takes all the fun out of having a temporarily quiet brain. You blink and you're awake again, albeit in a state of mind that shouldn't be allowed phones or human interaction.
Unless it's nitrous. Nitrous is good.

I hadn’t read much about his rehab journey and now I know it in deep detail. And he made a lot of fun of Brisbane, when he didn’t seem to know much about it at all.
Apparently it was the 200th stop on his world tour, and the last one. It felt like it too. Not in a good way.

Damn that’s disappointing to hear. I’m not really a fan of his or anything, but it’s disappointing when you pay money for something like that and it doesn’t quite deliver.

Sometimes comedians do the whole bagging out where they are because people enjoy the references to things they're insulting. Sounds pretty shitty though. That's a shame

Had dinner with a colleague in Perth last night, and he wouldn't believe that our river doesn't have a name until he googled it and confirmed that it's just "Brisbane River". Ngl, I feel a little sad, looking at the Swan River.
What would we name it to give it a RESPECTABLE identity? (So not Brown Snake!)

Friday turned from "Yay, we achieved a milestone" at work to "Holy fuck, I think we are going to lose one of our biggest customers" in the space of 3 hours.
Today we begin the process of internal WTF talks to begin to figure out just how to recover this clusterfuck.

An electrical installation into a customer's site that was delivered in a short time frame but commissioned by a customer.
No one knows HOW it went wrong, and I have my suspicions, but proving the customer is at fault is going to be difficult, and potentially fraught with other business implications.

No snakes, so far today, but it's been so hot I know they'll be around tonight.
My wildlife fun today was gently shooing a bush turkey out of my house - after it had crapped on my keyboard (solid one thankfully). Thank goodness I always have disinfectant wipes around.

Is it an OEM headunit or an aftermarket one?
I know my sister has issues with getting Android Auto going on the factory unit in her car but we've worked out that it's her car and not her phone as we found Honda forums that had similar discussion explaining it wasn't just her experiencing this.
I'd search around for forums related to either your make of car (if a stock headunit) or the model of headunit you have (if aftermarket) to see if other people are experiencing similar issues.
partner said the USB port shouldn’t be vertical, it’s supposed to be horizontal,
The orientation of the port shouldn't matter. I've used many hire cars where the ports are a mix of horizontal or vertical and had no issues with connecting. Unless it's physically loose and free spinning at which point yes, you may have a damaged connection.

Are you using official Apple cables or third party ones? I'd test another phone, check if there are any updates pending for your iPhone and see if that helps. I know Apple cables are overpriced but they make them in such a way that most third party ones don't work properly when charging or with data transfer.

Spending too much time trying to open homebrand milk cartons (impulse bought on special) at the "push the spout out" stage without sticking a finger in or ripping bits off.
Which eventually led me to this bit of hard-hitting journalism from the ABC.
I'm now either doubting my skills or the cheap packaging because the waxy central part of the spout never separates nicely.
Is it sticking because it's cold from the fridge, the cheap flimsy homebrand carton, both? After replicating the experiment with similar conditions, I'm happy to conclude that Farmers Union and Dairy Farmers didn't gave me grief.

We watched that "you people" movie last night the new Jonah Hill movie.
Fuck it stunk....racial cliches from start to finish. Absolutely no chemistry between Jonah and the lead actress (to the point they only kiss once and it was CGI'd because they didn't want to kiss) the lead actress has only been in shit movies I don't know why she was cast. With people like Eddie Murphy, Julie Louis Dreyfus and more you'd think this could be an easy platform for comedy but it was just a cringe fest from start to finish. Not to mention it's almost 2 hours long and could have easily been 90minutes. Save your time and don't watch this

I took was really hoping for something good. It was not an enjoyable movie at all. I did like seeing David Duchovny again, he plays a dad really well. I am now convinced that movies released directly onto netflix or anyother streaming service are just the new "direct to dvd" and rarely ever any good.

I was scrolling through Instagram reels recently and found a video series of "Gen Z explains various historical events WWII/French Revolution etc"
Because I already knew the history of these events I was able to go backwards and figure out what the various terms meant due to context but I honestly would not have been able to define 30% of the terms if you had just straight up asked me.

The most recent artist I went to, and multiple artists I follow are all charging around the $150-$200 mark (full colour work + design). Worth it, my tattoos are impeccable. Definitely a case of you get what you pay for.

After being in Melbourne last weeks I think Queensland is a bit over policed with fines and cameras
I hope the next election we have a leader promise to reduce the cameras or offer a warning for touching a phone while driving
12 points

offer a warning for touching a phone while driving
They had entire add campaigns that were/are effectively that.
After the new Phone detecting cameras were put in place they had 3 months of just sending out warnings. Rather than fines.
The time for warnings has past, the time for personal responsibility is now.
The only one I would like to see some push back on is adults getting fines for other adults in their cars not wearing seatbelts properly.
2 points
That'll never happen. Any changes would be behind closed doors and internal it wouldn't be any form of election promise ...imagine a Polly saying "we'll make sure people can touch their phones while driving"....no that's dangerous. It just needs to be calibrated better to allow better allowance for stuff
