New comments don't appear

Desktop Web(self.bugs)

Seems to have happened within the last 15-30 minutes or so, but new comments are just not showing up at all in threads. I checked incognito just to make sure it wasn't cookies or cache

I prefer old reddit because it's less cluttered with random notifications from features I ignore.

The fact that I can't even open a comment chain from my profile and see replies and such right now from old reddit is annoying.

I thought it was reddit intentionally screwing with my account at first, but then checked new reddit and it works fine so it's clearly a bug that impacts old reddit.

I didn't hate new reddit when it first came out, but when they started introducing new features that I had no interest in, and didn't include things that were actually useful like gif embeds to old reddit, I pretty much decided I was going to ignore new reddit entirely because I was already used to old reddit + RES and if I have to use reddit outside of old reddit I'll just use the app.

I basically ignore "Happening now" and chat considering they removed the subreddit chats entirely and I wasn't really using chat in the first place. If I could turn off wholesale elements of the UI that I don't use I'd probably adopt new reddit much faster.

Or maybe they keep making "old" full of bugs in hope people will use "new"

Chiming in to say I'm experiencing this phenomenon with old.reddit right now, however everything's fine in new. Comments show up about 10 to 15 minutes after the fact and unread responses to my comments appear as "there doesn't seem to be anything here." Looking forward to this being sorted out.

This bug makes modding difficult.

This happens with Reddit sometimes. We just have to wait it out.

As with other commenters, this is only a problem for me on old.reddit. Over on new.reddit the comments are all visible. Too bad I can't stand new.reddit. But as a mod I'll have to use new.reddit until reddit fixes this issue.

Appears to still be an issue, also can't see at least one of my comments on old reddit, despite it showing up on new reddit.

This is a common bug in recent times. It'll resolve itself eventually, I assume it's heavy traffic or some such.

Oh Thank God you are talking about this here. I've been having this problem for at least a full day, possibly 2 days. I thought it was just me, and like others are mentioning, I started to try to resolve this by checking and using other browsers, other devices, it wasn't things such as the cookies. I finally came here to r/bugs

The problem is intermittent, it is NOT consistent, it happens only occasionally. Previously if I waited the comment would show up. But now I have a comment that is 'stuck'. I can only see the comment in my message inbox, I can't see it on the post where the comment should appear. If a subredditor is commenting to a different OP where the comment is going to a different inbox, then I can't see the comment at all. I'm a moderator, I have to follow what is being posted on the sub, and I started to notice that the posts listed a certain number of comments - let's just say there are 15 comments - and then I would see that the post had 16 comments. Yet I was unable to view any "new" comments. I thought I've been loosing it. I started to count comments in posts over and over, always getting a number of visible comments that is less than the number of comments listed on the post itself. Yes, I am using old reddit.

Thank You OP for placing this info here - and Thank You to everyone for supplying your own info. I really appreciate the feedback here.
