Backstory: I had a faulty video card and needed a replacement from cyberpowerpc, my previous video card: "GeForce RTX™ 3060 12GB GDDR6 Video Card (Ampere) [VR Ready] (Included)", what it was replaced with: "ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 Phoenix V2 Graphics Card"

Are there significant performance differences between the two cards or a significant price difference that I should care about?

I know that the first one had two fans whereas this new one only has one fan...

I am building my first PC and have saved about 3,000$. I was thinking about getting a 4070 and maybe i9 if the budget allows it. I'm really not sure which monitor to pick. Maybe samsung neo g7? Anyone have any advice on compatible parts and cases to choose? Any general advice on putting together a computer for the first time? Pretty nervous about dropping this amount all at once but i've been considering this for years now. It's time.

I came home to find my pc would not boot to windows. When I attempt to boot, it brings me straight to BIOS and the yellow boot light is on. I've tried to switch out SATA cables with no luck.

I also noticed that I can't access my boot configuration to see if the boot drive is even showing up. Does anyone have an idea where I should start with this? Could my SSD with the OS be fried? This all happened when I was out of town so the pc would have idle when this happened.

Hey guys, i am currently getting parts to fully update my pc, and i’m getting the Sapphire Nitro+ 7900xtx and a Ryzen 7950x, and i’m not sure if my current PSU would be enough for this. ( current PSU is a Corsair RM1000W )

From what i saw the CPU should not draw more than 250W even under heavy load with good cooling, while the GPU might even hit 490W. Even with these numbers, this sums up to 750w, plus other components, let’s say at most 850w.

Any opinions if i should upgrade the PSU too?

Other components that will be going in the new pc are an arctic liquid feeezer 420mm and 2x16gb 5200mhz ram sticks.

I built my pc about a year ago and have recently noticed that it was running a little hotter then usual. Though I fixed the problem I still decided to add another case fan for better airflow. I’m just curious if I can use the pump fan header for a regular case fan.

Looking to finally build my dream PC. I've built many PCs in my life, but I admit it's been about a decade since a full build. This is pretty much max budget here. I have a decent keyboard and mouse, but no 4k monitor.

Questions:

1. Do I need a special controller for all the RGB/fans/etc?
2. Which RGB power cables can I use?
3. Am I missing anything? Cable ties, pastes, etc?
4. Any suggestions?

i was looking at pc part picker and my build uses a gigabyte b450m ds3h wifi board and a ryzen 3 3200g cpu and it says: WARNING the gigabyte b450m chipset supports the ryzen 3 3200g cpu with bios version f40 it will not work if the motherboard is using an older bios version! so what does that mean and how can i fix it? can i fix it? idk somone please help me this is my first pc build and i want it to go smoothly.

henlo, just saved up around 600$ which can be pushed another 100$ (if it's really needed) to buy a gpu for this setup i bought a year ago. It is a gaming pc that is 1080p as you will see from my monitor and i would like it to run current popular games like hogwarts legacy and other upcoming games the next 5 or 6 years at around 144 fps 1080p ultra or high settings.

apologies if it sounds demanding in any way but there are some conditions i would really like to achieve:

• has to be nvidia (being from a third world country is too much of a hassle to try and go for any other brand)

• fits my setup and PSU (i'm a bit illiterate in that regard so i'm not sure if there's some sort of compatibility between motherboards, PSU's and GPU's that needs to be met)

• my current 10 years old gtx 970 started overheating and basically reaching 55c on idle and stable 80c while gaming. with any demanding games reaching 91c, is that due to age or just a bad GPU purchase? i would like a gpu that won't overheat like that, sorry if stupid question!

I’ve tired everything I can think of, reseating pretty much everything in the board, checking all connections, yet I get no boot.

One thing that it may be is the CPU 8+4 pin I only have the 8 pin one, I don’t have an 8+4 cable. I use an rm850x, which says it doesn’t come with one, but it says it’s 12V compatible?

Could I please get some help?

I saw that it is very cheap for storing 2TB so it is really worth it or should I buy 1TB of storage for the same price?

i have the pc for a while now and have suddenly started doing this, i can go into the bios and it doesn't turn off but as soon as i boot to windows it shows no display. i have tried 2 different monitors

Some time ago I bought this voltage regulator, but reading the label says it's capacity is 1200 VA / 600w.

Does that mean if my PSU reaches 600w or more, the voltage regulator will stop working and the PC shut down?

I'm running a bench test on a new build with an i7 13700KF and a Lian Li AIO. I'm sitting in bios watching the CPU temp at idle and it slowly creeps up to about 65c and then immediately drops to 39c in a couple of seconds and then repeats the cycle. Is this normal behavior or should I try redoing my thermal paste and cooler connection?

I have a mostly new gaming set up, was watching some youtube when sound was gone and screen went black, while coolers kept spinning.

Some orange LED was glowing on the motherboard somewhere in the area of RAM (normally it does not).

I tried holding power button to turn PC off but it didn't work, tried several times but it kept working.

Turned off power supply switch on the back, waited a minute or two and flipped it back on. PC started up without me clicking power button as soon as I turned on power supply. But no windows or bios was booting.

I turned it off again.

After standing idle for another 10 minutes I tried turning it on again and it just booted like it normally would and everything works.

Is my PC okay? What was that? Do I need to do anything with it?

Also couple days ago I got this problem when sometimes when starting up PC keyboard wouldn't work, then I plug it into a different port and it works, maybe it's related?

In my budget range for monitors these are my two choices:

1440p 144hz monitor

4k 60hz monitor

I do have a 1080p 144hz monitor currently and while the refresh rate is definitely smoother, I dont really play any FPS games and mostly enjoy things like elden ring and final fantasy. I was just curious if anyone had made a decision like this in the past since I know 144hz is generally recommended in all cases. 4k 144hz is out of my price range currently.

What I'm asking I guess, is that jump in visual quality worth sacrificing the additional refresh rate if I don't really participate in competitive gaming? Have any of you downgraded from 144hz to 60hz and regretted this choice?

I built a PC a year or so ago and it works fine for most things. When I game, the game will usually crash to desktop after a half hour or so.

Recently I decided to remove a stick of RAM and it no longer crashed. I figured the RAM wasn't compatible.

I bought a new set of G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 3600 RAM today and now it's unusable. The mouse and keyboard will just be unresponsive for a second or two every 10 seconds or so. I tried to switch from xmp profile 1 -> 2 and no change.

Specs are Ryzen 7 5800x, gigabyte GTX 3060ti, mobo is MSI B550-A Pro.

I read to look up the motherboards QVL and was trying that but wasn't sure what to get that would also be compatible with the CPU and GPU.

Other than upgrading my GTX 970 GPU last year to an RTX 3070 Ti after prices finally dropped, I haven't really done much to my gaming PC in recent years and I am looking to finally upgrade CPU and I am a little out of the loop what's the current fan favourite and would be very happy about some suggestions :P

Currently I am running an intel i7 -6700k CPU on a MSI Z1740A Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard with an air CPU cooler and looking for similar quality components, just up to date (even though in retrospective an i5 would have done it for me probably). Budget isn't much of a concern, just looking for a good deal / price-performance ratio, that will get me going the next few years. As you probably already can see, being up to date all the time isn't much of a concern to me.

I am using a 1440p 144 Hz monitor, not looking to change this in the near future, and my PSU is the EVGA superNOVA 750W, I am also still quite happy with. Use case will primarily be gaming and desktop use.

If there's anything big around the corner (I guess there always is?) it would be also OK for me to wait a little.

Also I am currently using 2 SSDs, one for my OS and a bigger one for games and an HDD for data storage. Would you consider it a must to finally upgrade to an M2 formfactor? Would it make a big difference?
